Hi em
people from the country arnt all that hard to get along with we do tend to be more blokey and tend to be pretty tough but like you said we are very friendly and caring believe me it's just as hard for country people to relate to city people for us your almost a differnt speices some times, haha. But if you can find something we are interested in most of the time you won't be able to get is to shut up about I mean we are all differnt like me for example I never have really fitted in or been accepted becuase I am just that bit more sensitive. With country people we have just been through differnt stuff to city people and tend to have differnt proritys and responsibilitys but give your country relative a shot we tend to be very good at helping people through tough times and if you let us be can be sensitive as well that's my experiance anyway.
I don't get to see much with my family most of them live in Melbourne now we are the only ones left here, the rest of the people I'm related to in town I'm related to distantly. My towns changed a lot since I was a kid I used to know every one and there used to be only about 300 people but a heap of city people have moved up here becuase they want to country life and with that they tend to bring a very differnt attitude. My town used to have a very comunity orented feel about it but now it is very fractured and there are only a few of us that still do the comunity some of the old folks still help,out every now and then but they are abetting on a but now, I help run the local swimming pool wich is comunity run I'm in the CFA and just help out around the town were I can but yeah my town is very fractured now unfortunately the kind of people that want to rent here are less than desirable.
hope you ok em

hey Nath,
You seem very friendly yourself, I see how much you are giving on these forums, I am glad to have met you. Hope things are ok with you.
I agree I think I just need to be more open to different people and their strange personalities haha. It is exciting to notice all the different ways we relate to the world.
It sounds like you are a great addition to the community, and I know a lot of people would appreciate it even if they do not say.
Maybe we should start another question: anyone who wants to join
- what is your favourite way to relax?
- what are some of your favourite travelling experiences (to follow on from the question before)

Hi em
thank you, you seem very freindly as well and I'm also gald to of met you.😃
Honestly I haven't been doing to great latley but I'm ok today, I'll get there it's just taking a long time.
Oi you calling us country faulk strange, haha 😜.
yeah it's strange how much people's lives in the city are differnt to us in the country, have you ever visited any of your relatives in the country?
haha, I try my best but most people don't notice I do it more becuase my friends are doing it as well and we are all kind of like family, I do enjoy helping people though I've been to a lot of car accedents and fires.
ok sounds good.
my favourite ways to relax are art, driving round the padocks and sitting round a fire at night under the stars with good company.
and I've never left the country but I enjoyed going up to Coffs Harbour when I was younger.
thinking of you

haha yes I am, it is a very different way of life to the one I am used to. I have visited quite a few times but generally found it dry, hot and kinda boring to be honest (North-west NSW)... would be very different if I actually lived there.
Ok I should probably answer my own questions too.
relaxing: read a book on the couch listening to calm music, have a bath, journal, do yin yoga to music
travelling: adventurous camping trips with my family when I was younger, and visiting St Pauls Cathedral in Rome with friends.
I do miss the country night sky. Here in melb the sky never gets fully dark, so strange.

Haha well you city slickers are strange to me to, I have to remind my self all the time that I can't talk about ringing lambs or fighting fires with me cousins because it's just not part of you guys reality. I mean in some ways you tend to live very sheltered live you don't see the process of how milk get to your fridge or have to pull labs or put down injured sheep. Haha yeah it can get pretty dry and hot here as well but if you look close enough there is life everywhere you just have to pay attention. There is always something to do on a farm you just have to be open to it to be honest I don't even know what people in the city do is be bored stupid by great aunt and uncle own a mansion in Portsea and we have stayed there a few times and my cousins love it but I was bored stupid all we did was play pool and swim, at home I'm building sheds or tables and things or padock bashing there is always something to do.
Haha I'll have you loving the country by the time I'm done with you haha you really have no idea what your missing out on.
Thinking of you
Nath

@startingnew
I really love cold weather, so love travelling to places that have that coldness. Europe is one of my favourite places. I love the history and the architecture. It's like stepping back in time, especially certain places of the UK. The other favourite is Africa. Africa is home for me, so always love going back. Nothing can beat the safari and the relaxed lifestyle. Aside from my obvious African bias, everyone must travel to Cape Town and Zimbabwe (preferably Victoria Falls) at least once in their life.
I love writing anything that sort of comes to my mind. More of a short story person at the moment, but am finally working on a full story/book that I have always wanted to do. A recent bout of depression has given me the impetus to do it and whilst it keeps bringing up pains and problems, I am know I have to fight through it to get it written.
@Cesca
That sucks. I got a kitten once, but my sister was afraid of it because it was playful. So we had to get rid of it. It really upset me because my sister had just got married and was going to be moving countries, so the fact that I had to get rid of the kitten was really upsetting. Hopefully I can get a pet soon. That is one of my big goals.
Nationalities: Zimbabwean and Australia. I was born in Zimbabwe and lived there for most of my childhood, up until I was about 15. Wish I got to finish school there as the schools here in Aus are nowhere near the standard of what we got taught, but such is life.
Don't really speak any other languages, but can understand the basics of Gujrati, French, Afrikaans, and Shona.

I really do. I love the escapism. I know it is not everyone things, but I would encourage you to try it if you can. I love how travel opens up the mind.
That's cool. What do you write? Thanks. I really do want to finally be able to say I have completed something I set out to do.
