hi guys

a few more questions to get to 'know' you

do you speak another language other than australian?

what nationaility/ies are you?

i dont speak any other languges but i know snippets of a few through leaning through school.

im born in australia but along the lines i have french, canadian, english, irish and spanish but those just run along the grapevine somewhere

I don't really speak any other languages I know a little Indonesian from school and I know a little bit of aboriganal from a few differnt languages but not much. I have a pretty strong country Aussie accent and my cousins make fun of it all the time but I can't help it.

im as Aussie as they come all sides of my family came out as convicts very early on they came from Scotland, Ireland, France, England, Germany and we think there is a little aboriganal in there somewhere along the line but we aren't sure. My pops family have been farmers for many generations and have farmed in my town goornong for over 150 years so I'm related to every one in my town unfortunately. Before they came here they were settled in Kyneton for a while and I'm not sure before that. I live in the same house my pop grew up in and live on the same road that my family has lived on for the past 150 years. And my nans family came from Heathcote and were butchers there as well as many other things and they have been in that town as long as my pops family has been here. My dads family are from the mallee.

Yeah Pysis I'm the same,

I know a little indonesian and french from school but have definitely forgotten most of it. My family are mostly descended from convicts coming in the second fleet from scotland or ireland who knows. I don't really think of it as too important to our identity or anything. My mum's family all live in the country and are close with each other, but since she moved to the city and met my dad (a city kid), we haven't been too close with them. I don't really know how to relate to them tbh, they are very friendly and blokey whereas we are much more introverted and sensitive.

It's interesting to hear how connected you are with your family's history and 'legacy' I suppose - do you get together much? Sounds like a strong community.
