Hi everyone, This section of the Beyond Blue Forums is a little different to the others, as you may have noticed in looking at the discussions. Elsewhere on the Forums, we discuss some pretty heavy topics: mental health issues, thoughts of suicide, trauma, abuse, relationship breakdowns. Here is the place to come to get away from that and have a bit of fun. Distraction can be an important tool to draw on if you're finding yourself overwhelmed by distressing thoughts and feelings. As this is a section for respite from heavier topics, we will relocate any discussions about heavier topics to a more suitable section of the Forums. Happy posting! Beyond Blue

There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here. Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ... So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ... Hi to all and to all new members and welcome to BB forum. I got back from NZ on Saturday and feeling lost, confused and head is running around in circles again with so many things. Cant explain what it is as they all seem to link together and numb me and trying to go step at a time with it is also hard when it is like this everything feeling linked. It is feeling the uselessness again for my husband and not being financial to help out. I have also found out my daughter is sexually active and she is 15, 16 next month. She told me herself so I am glad she felt comfortable to do so especially as some of you know the past couple of months I did feel really estranged (is that the word) from her. Can't wait to have first session with psychologist on 3rd Feb maybe she will help. Well holiday went well but won't say too much as don't know if I can discuss it here. Good morning all, hope everyone had a good sleep. I woke up at three but that isn't unusual for me as I do every morning. I have to be asleep by 7.30 or I am thee most grumpiest person to be around. I get frustrated quickly, agitated and easily start spitting tacks. I try to read but nothing sinks in with what I am reading. Well this is something I will discuss with my psychologist, I have my first appointment on 3rd Feb. Anyway as some of you may know I am leaving Saturday for NZ but today maybe my last day here until I get back or until after Australia day. I want to leave you with some lyrics from a song I absolutely love, any Italians on here my recoknise it as it is from Eros Ramazzotti, I call him my rough diamond. If I wasn't married I know where I would love to be (dreaming, fantasising) well hey these things we all have I am sure. Well here it is IT'S NOT POSSIBLE TO HEAL FROM THE ILLNESS OF LIVING. IF ONLY YOU KNEW HOW REAL THIS THING HERE IS AND IF IT MAKES YOU SUFFER A LITTLE PUNISH IT BY LIVING IT, ITS THE ONLY WAY TO SURPRISE IT LIKE THIS. CLING TO THIS MOMMENT AND HOLD IT TIGHTLY AS MUCH AS YOU CAN AND DONT EVER LET GO OF YOUR PREY. My wish this year is that all of us have at least a few nice hours where we feel relaxed and connected to everyone around us. So I have put up post before relating to my current partner and how to help him. But I want to post a good news story... I have been struggling since graduating high school in 2007 to find a career that I am truly passionate about. So guess what.. I did! It was staring at me straight in the face this whole time... Mental Illness. Well I am currently studying a double diploma in counselling and community services so that I can help other people who have no where to turn. I am so excited that I can give back to the community that has helped me! I want to be a part of beyond blue eventually because they have helped me in so many ways! This was really just a Thank You to everyone who has helped
