The adventures of a young scientifically oriented boy in Montana who wins a prize at the Smithsonian in Washington and has to make his way there on his own.
(An Australian film from 1983. I saw it as a young child. I just rewatched the trailer and it seems so much from another era now. It’s about a kelpie dog who is part dingo).
