Hello, and welcome to the forum!

Anxiety can be so debilitating, and you are unfortunately experiencing this firsthand. I recommend that you make an appointment with your GP about this. They can give you advice on how to cope, and can also refer you to a psychologist or counsellor if necessary. You've taken the first step by coming here for help. Next, see your GP!

If you would like to discuss more specific concerns related to your anxiety, you can post again 🙂

Best wishes,

SM

Hi Mental as

your situation sounds similar to so many on here, including myself. It can ruin your life and make simple things extremely hard.

read through a few of the threads on here while you are waiting for a GP appointment, there is lots of great advice and people's personal experiences that might help you through.

Good luck

I know, I know it feels so heavy. And the hiding.... well it feels safer. Sorry I cannot call you by your chosen name, because I don't believe you are mental, you are just struggling that's all. And you are certainly not alone in that. I long to give you some good advice, but all I can give is a hug, and re assurance that you are indeed not alone and that I care about you.

 Many hugs to you xxxx

Shelley

I'm sorry you're going through such a bad time. I wish I could help you though there are lots of people on here who are more able than me. I'll do what Shelley Anne did and send a cyber hug.

(((((hugs)))))   Helen

As has been suggested start with your GP as anxiety is a profound and complex issue and you will need to develop practical methods that can you use to live more effectively with and hopefully reduce it. Taking practical steps in itself generates hope and the belief that your situation can be improved.                                                                           I too would echo a previous statement made. If you want to discuss specific issues in how your anxiety expresses itself in your life then this is a good place to do it.                                                                                                                   Philip.

Hi there m.a.

Like Shelley, I won’t refer to you with the title you’ve given yourself – unless you add the word “anything”;  and then you’ll become that highly successful ‘80’s Australian band.

You’ve received some wonderful posts in response to yours and I hope that these have helped you a little.

It’s great that you have made this step to reach out, as it sure sounds like you need some support;  and I’d like to emphasise to you that you are more than welcome here at any time and as often as you wish too – we’ll be here for support for you as best we can, as well as try to give out possible advice to you.

Along with hopefully setting up a professional appointment with a GP, do you have any close family members or friends who may be able to have a shoulder to lean on or an ear to listen too?   Or even someone who might be able to swing by your place and to give you a little help with things;  just to ease the pressure of things for a while.  That can always be beneficial – to relieve the pressure cooker environment.

Hope this helped out a little as well and would love to hear back from you.

Kind regards

Neil

I don't think the ER will be very responsive to your situation as myself and others have found out from past experience. All that they can tell you to do is to continue taking your medications and to see your Psychiatrist. If you are already seeing a specialist and been prescribed medication there is nothing they can do.                                 If you feel like harming yourself however I would advise you to go there immediately.                                                     Philip.

You are ok. I know its scary, it's so scary. Please be good to yourself.

I went to the emergency room once, just out of panic. I can't say that much came of it other than me laying down for a few hours. It actually did calm me a bit, but other than that they just sent me home.

Have you got something you can watch on tv? Something silly, something light hearted?
Its in these moments that I turn to terrible reality tv shows.

Sometimes though, you just want to talk. If you feel like it, call lifeline, they are wonderful people and will listen to you. If you don't want to talk on the phone, then Beyond Blue has an online chat service with professionals. They too are lovely and you can just pour it all out.

Are you home alone or do you have someone you can call or talk to in the house? You can tell them you feel bad, but ask them to help you redirect your thoughts. Maybe you can do this by trying to solve a crossword together, or by playing a game on your phone or playstation or something.

I know it sounds silly, but right now you are in the thick of it and what you need is a calming influence and something to think about other than your fear.
