Headaches every day

Hello everyone

I Have GAD and health anxiety. I've been doing so well but just had a baby 3 months ago and I've been experiencing headaches everyday. I feel foggy and tired all the time, my eyes are sore and I'm stressing so much about these headaches. It's like a tight band around my head, pressure feeling in my forehead and occasionally sharp pains. I get vertigo too.

Im so scared I have a brain tumour. I had a brain MRI 2 years ago and am convinced something has grown since then. I don't know what to do anymore, I'm constantly at my drs with new symptoms. I just hope I can have some others experience with this, is this a common anxiety symptom? Im scared

Stress can definitely cause headaches, there's a myriad of things that cause them.

Could be something simple such as staring at your phone for too long, caffeine withdrawal etc.

Hello Gg22,

Like you, I also have GAD and health anxiety and have been suffering with migraines for about 5 years. You're definitely not alone in your experience. When my migraines began I was also very worried about what it could mean. I had an MRI and everything was normal, my doctor prescribed me some medication which I have been taking ever since and has helped reduce my headaches.

I know it's hard not to worry, but as Guest_7403 mentioned, there's many common causes for migraines, but for your peace of mind, perhaps book in another MRI to get everything checked out. In the meantime, make sure you're drinking plenty of water every day and getting enough sleep (which I know can't be easy with a newborn!)

Hope you're feeling better.

The tight band thing is definitely an anxiety headache. It's the typical pattern for those who get anxiety.

I get ones that just affect the right side of my head (above and around my ear and jaw) and the part where my head and neck meet. I'm pretty sure it's from tensing a lot during my long periods of anxiety, and doing things like grinding my teeth. I don't have any other symptoms that would indicate anything else (muscle weakness, memory problems, vision loss etc.)

Still, I can understand it's nerve-wracking and it's unfortunately far too easy to assume the worst. All the best 🙂
