Hello Diamondback

Thanks for your post, it is an interesting question. I suggest that the drama that took place released lots of adrenaline which had the effect of reducing your anxiety. Adrenaline gives us almost superhuman strength in the moment. We can things not possible in normal circumstances because the need for action. I think something of this nature was the source of your exhilaration and anxiety could not stand up to the competition.

Only a guess but it seems to me the most likely cause. Yes, very down to earth but most things have a prosaic answer. My next suggestion is to take yourself to see your GP and discuss your anxiety there. The 'cure' may not be as spectacular but if you see your doctor there is a good chance you will get better, though in less dramatic terms.

Hi Mary

I did have a similar thought I have been to my doctor pretty much straight after it started and see councillors which has definitely helped and made my life more manageable it was just such an interesting experience to feel no anxiety whatsoever I almost had forgotten what it was like and I will be back next week to see my councillor to try and work this out Thankyou for your advice

Hello Diamond

Just had another thought though it be well out of the ballpark. Do you take your medication regularly, on time etc? It is a possibility that your meds may have played a part. Something to ask your counsellor though it may be better to check with your GP as counsellors cannot prescribe medication and usually have little experience in this are.
