Anxious_Bear, well done for coming to the forums to seek answers and advice. You are in a highly supportive and protective environment and you will never be judged here.
I would well recommend that you book into the GP and discuss your anxiety. You need to get it under control as it can have a huge effect on your life. To me this is your first priority. You may be referred to a psych to discuss further and also the GP or psych may discuss medication.
If you get diagnosed, please do not feel bad about it. Did you know that anxiety affects 1/5 males and 1/3 females in society so you certainly are not alone in your journey. Check out this link for more info to show this - www.beyondblue.org.au/the-facts/anxiety.
I have suffered from PTSD, anxiety and depression for the best part of a decade and you can live a normal life with the appropriate treatments.
Do yourself a favor and start practicing mindfulness. It is a type of meditation and helps you calm down and remain calm. I use an app called "Smiling Mind" every morning and it certainly works for me.
Keep posting and updating on how you are going on your own journey.
Cheers
Mark.

Hey Anxious_Bear,
I think Mark JT has given you some great advice and tips on how to find information and things that can help.
You said in your post that you really didn't want to be diagnosed with anxiety - can I ask why?
One thing I know is that people aren't diagnosed with things that they do not have. If you were diagnosed with anxiety, it means that you have a name for what you are experiencing. That's it. That's all it means. Often the diagnosis is good for GP's because they can write little numbers in their forms when they do referrals, but otherwise the diagnosis doesn't really matter. The only reason that the diagnosis would matter is because it shows you that you're not alone because, like Mark said 1 in 3 of females have it.
Struggling with anxiety can be incredibly exhausting, and it sounds like it would be tiring being so jumpy and frantic - definately worth reaching out and getting some help.
Oh, and no more online quizzes! They aren't helping you 🙂

Hi Anxious_Bear. Unsure of your age here, but being away from home before you are ready can be scary. I recall at the age of 11/12, somewhere in that age bracket, I wanted to go to a camp. I had seen a movie about two girls in a camp who had met and discovered they were long-lost twins. That part was fantasy, but I decided the 'camp' part looked 'fun'. I was incredibly home-sick, I found it difficult making friends anyway due to lack of confidence, so put those two together and you have an incredibly sad, lonely girl. The camp was a week, an incredibly looong drawn out week. Both the above answers have indicated a Dr would be able to guide you, I totally agree with this. Are you doing okay at school, do you have any concerns there? Sometimes peer pressure can be hard when there are factors such as anxieties you may have. I also agree with romantic on the quizzes and games issues. Some things are best left alone.
