SOME ENCOURAGING THREADS TO CHECK OUT

Hi Shelly,

No, I have not come across "The Killer Thread" at all. I might check it out soon.

I have managed to complete one of the pictures in my new colouring book though and am quite pleased with the result. I did it all in pencil.

I am trying another one where I will do the animal in the centre of the page in textas and will use pencils for the flowers in the background. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

An older lady I know buys colouring in books for her husband who is about 90 years old and in a home for the elderly. Apparently he really enjoys them. Good for him!

There really are so many around at present. It does make me wonder though how long the craze will last. So many different things come and go.

It will be winter soon so Newsagents might start trying to sell knitting and crocheting magazines. Time will tell.

Hope those of you who are colouring in keep enjoying it!

Cheers for now from Mrs. Dools

Hi again Shelley and Everyone,

I just remembered you mentioned about the camel smelling. I don't seem to recall that at all. I think I would have remembered if it did have a peculiar odour.

When we were kids, we had friends who owned a camel. Where on earth it came from I don't recall. Anyway, we used to ride that bare back if that is what you call it when riding a camel with out a saddle! We used to just sit behind the hump and hang on to the fur and hope the thing didn't take off on us.

At Victor Harbor in S.A. you can ride camels along the beach. Many years ago my husband's Nan was visiting from England. We all went on a camel ride. It was Nan's first time. She was squealing and laughing the whole time! She was hilarious!

I seem to recall riding a camel at the Adelaide Show as well.

Cheers.

Hi Mrs.Dools

A long time coming but here is my wolf with gel pens.

I was very shaky when I did it so don't look too close haha.

Cheers,

Carol (Lost Girl)

Hi Mrs. Dools

I have changed my pic back as a few people noticed the wolf looked angry and I prefer to have something calmer. I will do another pic and post at a later date. Cheers

Hi Carol,

Your picture looks excellent. I love the combination of colours you have used. It is certainly a very intricate picture.

I wouldn't worry too much about the wolf looking a little angry, maybe one of its pups just bit its tail! Ha. Ha.

Recently I managed to complete a third picture in my colouring book. I find it stirs up my carpel tunnel problems a little so I can't do too much at once.

Now I have started the colouring, I have been enthusiastic to continue on with some applique and hand embroidery I am doing on a quilt. I was even thinking of putting some blanket stitching around a mat so it does not fray too much.

I am very thankful the colouring in has started to make me feel like I want to do other art and craft activities!

Happy colouring to you!

From Dools

Hey Mrs.Dools,

Thanks! I am the same as you and have been feeling crafty. I am crocheting a toy, my first one, a bunny for my daughter for Easter. I find the crochet helps as a distraction from my pain.

Happy colouring and quilting. That sounds wonderful. I am not very good at sewing.

Cheers,

Carol
