Hi!
I have bipolar disorder type I and have recently been diagnosed with generalised anxiety disorder and I am most struggling with judgement of myself and acceptance. What's it like for anyone else when managing their mental health disorders?

It can be a daunting process, so we could navigate it together if you like as we know it may be a delicate process. Let us know, we are here. Hi MF234
I like what Tay said. Do you have a counsellor, psych or psych to support you?
It's not fun but it's possible is my answer. Doing whatever is necessary. We have a difficult path, no denying it. Reading or watching about others with similar disorders can be very empowering. I understand that Stephen Fry (a famous English comedian, if you haven't heard of him... maybe not so famous?) has BPD and I watched a wonderful series he made about it. He understands his BPD so much more than earlier in his life, and now says that he embraces it.
I wish you luck in your journey and hope you find lots of support here within the forums.

Hi
I also have bipolar type 1 and generalized anxiety disorder. Although I was diagnosed in October , I still don't think I have fully accepted the diagnose. I have other medical issues and have never had a problem accepting those diagnoses , but bipolar seems to be different and sometimes I feel like I'm in denial. I think I struggle with it a bit, the acceptance, because of me worrying about what people will think of me because I'm bipolar. I was given some good advice which might help you , a friend who is a social worker said to me after I was diagnosed that bipolar is just a label and it is not who you are as person and it doesn't define you. I think this is something I really need to embrace.
