Am I suffering Anxiety

Hi all

newby here. I have had depression for over 25 years with three major episodes in this time. I take medication and during my bad episode I have seen a psychologist.

I was diagnostic with coeliac disease three years ago and since changing my diet my overall mental and physical health have improved.

Over the last week I have been finding it hard to sleep. I have these odd feelings in my legs chest and head where I feel like I need to stretch my muscles. I Feel slightly tense and occasionally feel like I need to dig my fingernails into my hand or grit my teeth.

I just want to know is this anxiety or something else. How can I relax these feelings and sleep better.

im looking forward to your replies.

Hi KPau and welcome to our forums

Anxiety can manifest itself in many different ways. Unfortunately I'm not able to say whether what you are experiencing is or is not anxiety. Have you talked about your symptoms with your doctor and/or psychologist you are seeing?

If you are looking at better ways to sleep and relax, there are many wonderful posts in our forums on these topics. You can find these by doing a search using the search field at the top of this page. Different keyword searches to use are - sleep; relaxation.

Kind regards

Hi KPau,

Sorry you are feeling this way, I had severe anxiety OCD and have now recovered from the condition…

I had all different symptoms with my anxiety one was grinding and clenching my teeth…

I highly recommend you speak to your gp for a diagnosis of anxiety…..

meditation is good for anxiety before sleeping…

Thanks for replying to me. I’m acting feeling much better today. I think I’m going to try and get outside a bit more a couple of times a day to walk or garden and work off some energy. I think this might help.

Thanks for replying. I’m feeling much better today and I’m going to try and get outside more and spend some time in the garden. I will look up some meditating and relaxation on the site.
