Voluntary Admission advice

Hey Everyone

I need some advice please, I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder and Anxiety last year. I was admitted to a private clinic and remained there for 7 weeks, I returned to work part time but have relapsed and have been off work since July, in July I was readmitted for 3 weeks but discharged myself due to being mistreated by some of the nursing staff, I went to see a new psychiatrist who suggested I increase me medication and see him in 2 weeks, I sought a second opinion and this psychiatrist wants to admit me for 2-3 weeks, given what occurred I am too scared to be admitted but this psychiatrist has made me feel comfortable and has assured me I will be safe, I've been off work since July and unsure when I will be well enough to return.

Thanks Kengy it's all running smoothly. Today I attended a values group, enjoyed a long chat with my social worker while she was conducting her assessment, played Monopoly with another patient, attended a health and wellbeing group and met with my psychiatrist. I'm pleased to say my meeting with the psychiatrist went well and he acknowledged at the start that since I'm not comfortable with answering personal questions with the nurse present that he would not ask any personal stuff. What mindfulness techniques do you use?

Thanks Yoga I'll keep posting updates of my progress.

Hey Kengy

Great to hear from you thanks for asking how I'm progressing. Since my last update I've participated in groups including yoga, mood movement with the exercise physiologist, relaxation and chaired a second meeting which went well.

I've been here for two weeks and two days at this stage I'll be going home in early-mid November. My only concern is that being a new facility they don't have all the groups finalised, TMS is about a month away and the outpatient groups have not been finalised. I'm also feeling bored as there are not many groups to attend, on weekends there aren't any.

Id welcome any suggestions to keep me occupied during the day and after dinner at 5pm.
