Dear Pnd5~
I'm afraid I've no personal knowledge of TMS, having been lucky enough to find meds and therapy have been reasonably effective.
beyondblue does put out a very comprehensive booklet on the types of treatment available for depression (plus another for anxiety). The various treatments are assessed for effectiveness.

I hope this is of some help. Going back to hospital every month or so sounds a realy limiting problem

I am with you Re the tedium of tms. Also the disruption as I have it every 4th week and have to travel which flares up autoimmune conditions.
Unfortunately I can't offer anything better. Tms is currently state of the art treatment. And who knows, it could be years, decades, before anything better comes along.
I just try to remember what I was like before tms - which was a lot worse 🙂

Hello Pnd5, a warm welcome to you and also to Kalima a newcomer as well.
TMS ( Transcranial magnetic stimulation ) is something I'm not familiar with although I've read about it, but is out of myu experience.
What you should do is 'ask Dr. Kim' there is a thread or what you can do is type in what I've quoted in the search bar at the top, this will take you straight to it and then ask her what she thinks.
Geoff.
