Support in Melbourne?

Does anyone know psychologists who bulk bill? I don't have a healthcare card. I don't have any money either.

GP was so horrible to me today. I've called and emailed and googled so many places. I don't think there is anyone in this entire state who will actually help me. I don't usually ask for help. Guess I now realise that's just as well.

Hi, welcome

go to another doctor and apply for 10 free visits to professional medical care through a care plan.

good luck

Tony WK

Hi Tony,

Yeah and thanks, if I can get out the door tomorrow, I'll go the 2.5 hours to my old Doctor. I've made an appointment, I just have to keep it. It's two days in a row of this hard stuff.

As for the ten free visits.... they're not free. That's my problem.

Was hoping someone could name a psychologist who does do the bulk billing. I've searched my best.

I need to go to bed now. Thanks.

Good morning,

Am still looking if anybody knows of someone please.

Hi Miss-Anne-Throwy,

Welcome to the forums. We're unable to provide recommendations for specific practitioners here on the forums, but you can look up practitioners in your local area using our practitioner directory, or call our support service on 1300 22 4636.

i have the same issue. if you have any luck in finding way to find these professionals please let me know

Hi hatethefeeling, not sure if you saw my post above, but the best place to find health professionals is by using our practitioner directory or calling our support service on 1300 22 4636.

We also have a thread here on resources that will aid you in assessing whether a practitioner is suitable for your needs.

Thankyou Chris,

I have looked at both those tools and it doesn't help me address my issue of not having the money to pay for a psychologist.

unfortunatley mental health help is hard to access for those of us that are not health care card holders yet for what ever reason can't afford to pay the out-of-pocket expense

Miss-Anne-Throwy seems to want help, much like me, but unless there is a way tp access it through a bulk-billed practitioner I will continue to lack support

thanks

Hi hatethefeeling, I know what you mean. There are practitioners who bulk bill, but you do need to do a bit of research. The practitioners in our directory may have this information on their websites, or you may have to call them.  Alternatively you can call our support service and they may be able to assist you in researching this.
