Medication has killed my appetite.

Since beginning medication 2 months ago I don't enjoy food as much. I'm wondering if this is normal? I don't really have much of an appetite anymore, I find eating boring. I'm a healthy weight now but I'm worried about what may happen in the future.

dear Grace, firstly can you let us know whether or not this medication is actually working for you.

Personally I used to love cooking and gardening but now living by myself I really loathe them both, and only make sure that my puppie is fed well.

Whether it's my medication that has done this or whether my depression has, or it could be both, which I tend to believe. L Geoff. x

Hi Grace your lucky my medication made me put on 22 kilos as i always wanted the junk foof after 22 yrs im finally off them and what a difference the appetite has definately decreased so yes this medication has different effects make sure you speak about it with your gp

Yes the medication is working for me. I'm in good spirits and doing well otherwise.

HI Grace

same happened to me since i started on my SNRI.The med also helps wonders with my depression and anxiety. So i love the drug. side effect was it did change my appetite. I had first lost 6 kg after being sick and now i have trouble to keep weight on a steady level. My BMI is still ok with 20 but dont want to lose more.

i try to eat regularly even though im not overly hungy. Ice cream with fruit has realy helped me to eat at least somehting and now its fruit i eat a lot.My advise: find something , regardless what it is, you could eat any time and go from there to more solid food. It may work for you too 🙂

Glad u r feeling better with meds:) Beetle
