How do you remember to take medication?

This may be a silly question but how does everyone remember to take their medication?

I've missed two days this week and really noticed the changes in my moods.

Have been taking AD for 4 years now but still forget some days and then it becomes a pattern and I'll go a whole week without them. By the end of the week I'm a wreck and I suddenly remember "oh my medication!"

I do find I'm very forgetful and vague these days - possibly because of the medication.

Anyway I'm rambling.

Any tips and advice welcome. Thank you. Emmy

Hi Emmy,

Just some ideas....

A note on your fridge door (or somewhere else you will see it in the morning)

Put it in your lunchbox for work

Get someone to ask you every day if you have taken it

Set a reminder on your phone

That's all I can think of at the moment. I'll probably think of something I've missed later.

Hope this is helpful 🙂

HI Emmy

this isnt a silly question and many are probably thinking the same thing. i use to find remembering to take the medication hard to do esp when im on so many different ones.

i actually have a medication app on my phone its medisafe.

this app allows me to put all of my medications in what the dose is and even what they look like. and for some of them it actually give me some information about it like possible side effects and what its used for and the dosages too. and it sets the timer and give you reminders. it also tracks the days youve taken them and when you havent.

its really great and would reccomend it to anyone

hello Emmy, no this isn't a silly question at all, but if you only have the AD to take then you put in a place where you frequent, the bathroom, near the kettle, on a coffee table where you usually put your cup of tea/coffee/water so that you can watch the TV, computer.
Every day I set up my medication for the next day, morning, lunch and dinner in each individual plate right in front of my microwave and know if I haven't taken my dose for the day, as I have to take quite a lot of tablets every day.
If this AD is in your system then you mustn't try and catch up, wait until the next normal time you have to take it, never double up, that's unadvisable as your doctor would tell you. Geoff.

Thanks Mia, Startingnew and Geoff for your replies.

I do have an app on my phone but just ignore it in the morning - silly I know.

notes in different places sounds like a great idea. I'll try that 🙂
