Health retreat for depression covered by health insurance?

Matine

Hi there,

does anyone know of any health retreats / clinics covered by health insurance?

As background, I have treatment resistant chronic depression and have been in and out of mental hospitals over the past 2 years. I've tried every anti-depressant deemed relevant, tried TMS and tried ECT. Nothing works.

Right now I am struggling to cope but don't want to go back to a hospital environment where they don't do regular exercise / yoga, don't focus on healthy eating, don't have therapies other than pushing more medicine down your throat.

So does anyone know of a place I can go which would be covered by private health insurance that could help?

thanks

Hello Matine

Welcome to the forums and thankyou for posting too

I have never heard of a health clinic that is covered by health insurance. There are probably private clinics that have in depth therapeutic assistance where mental health is concerned, but Im sorry I cant answer your question

I have had acute anxiety followed by depression since 1983. Ive always been fit and have had a healthy diet. Just for me weekly counseling and meds were the only way out the maze of the bulk of my illness.

I hope someone can help you find what you are looking for Matine

my kind thoughts for you

Paul

Hi Matine, thanks for your post.  We are unable to give recommendations for health professionals or facilities here on the forums.  We would suggest getting in touch with your insurance provider directly for advice on what you may or may not be covered for.
