Do you find ginger foods/drinks help with nausea/upset stomach? I want to try some but not sure where to start.

Most commonly and easy to deal with, I feel a knot in my stomach and either lie down for awhile, hoping it goes or I go to the toilet for... awhile. (Feeling this a bit now, strangely.) Which is partially why I didn't eat before doing things that made me nervous, less a chance of things 'coming up'. I can also feel like this if I wake up too early. I usually deal with this and go on about my day, even if there is some lingering stomach pain.
Then when something big happens I gag (if I'm not distracted), throw up (if i can't calm down) and lose my appetite. Where I'm at now really. I'm more comfortable with the gagging now which helps be calm more. It rarely becomes anything. It was pretty bad 2 months ago when this feeling came on but for the most part I'm over serious vomiting. Close call here and there though.

Sorry, another reply. A lot on my mind. Yeah, Pysch appointment in the middle of next month, Headspace (counseling) at the beginning of next month and Dr's appointment in about a week. All just a little further away than I'd like. 😞 Still though, at least they're made. And I've got a lot of time to plan what I say to the Dr. providing my situation doesn't change much. I doubt it will. Oh and an appointment with a job search place. Frankly it's more than likely going to make me worse yet again and erase any progress of made since the previous appointment put me where I am now. But I'll try be positive. I was last time too but eh. All I can do.
I think the pain in my stomach I mentioned in one of my previous comments may have been because I ate so close to going to bed. Urgh, damned if I don't damned if I do. Hopefully this feeling goes away by the time I want to try eat. It should.

Sorry, I accidently hit on something and think I sent my reply to post before finishing.
I wanted to say MissPurple has been very helpful with her suggestions. I read your food intake - at least you're getting some nutrition. Perhaps if you could add a glass of 'Hospital' Sustagen, that would give you additional nutrition.
If I find your introductory post, I'll let you know. I hope this little post links up with the other one I just wrote - I hope it hasn't disappeared.
Stay as positive as you can - nothing lasts forever. LH

Yes, the first part of my post disappeared by mistake - no idea what key I hit.
I'll try to rewrite it later in the day. It was fairly lengthy and I'll need to remember exactly what I wrote. LH

And yeah I've always found that to be the most comforting thought. Nothing lasts forever. Even a quote from some holy book, not sure which really helps me.
2 Corinthians 4:18
"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
Just generally taking it one day at a time of course.

Hi Hypersleep,
Unfortunately, I think it disappeared. Pretty sure it's not being moderated - I think I pressed the "back" key and "poof"- it was gone. Not to worry, I'll have some time later this afternoon to write the gist of my comment.
Very glad to hear you've been doing reasonably OK the last few days. Don't worry - no-one's forgotten you - just the opposite in fact.
The quote from Corinthians is very appropriate and really would be the ideal way to live life. However, for those of us who suffer anxiety, it's very difficult not to project ahead and anticipate negative fictional scenarios (actually writing this comment is helping me to recall what I wrote in the lost comment).
I was thinking about food issues yesterday, and I realised I don't think I know any women who don't have some issue with food - whether it's a minor or major issue. I'm sure there are many women who can relate normally to food, I just don't recall meeting/knowing any. With my friends, it ranges from feelings of guilt for eating something "bad" i.e. a piece of cake, to a friend who has bulimia at 53.
It's actually quite sad that so many of us have such problematic relationships with food.
Stay strong and I'll try to recapture the content of my missing post later today. LH

Another pretty good day yesterday with some very decent progress. Impulse seems to be an ally of mine as always with anxiety. I'm starting to improve a bit but funny enough it's got me worried that I'm sticking to my routine a little too much and future appointments coming up might throw me off again. One day at a time though.

Hi Hypersleep,
Good to know life has been tolerable.
Yes, one day at a time. Been reading a bit of Buddhist philosophy and was drawn to the (obvious) reality that everything is transient - everything is in a state of change, even if it doesn't appear to be. Nothing is permanent. Good one to remember.
At some stage, you might want to have a read of the following - I have a huge list, but these were the most helpful for me:
'Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway' by Susan J. Jeffers
'Self-help for Your Nerves: Learn to Relax and Enjoy Life Again by Overcoming Stress and Fear' by Dr Claire Weekes. She didn't choose the most stimulating title for her book, but I found it very helpful and have recommended it to a few people.
Going to sister's house in the country for a week tomorrow to get some rest and relaxation. Catch you up when I get back. Remember, if you get really stuck, call the BB helpline. And keep meditating. 🙂 LH
