Hamster on a wheel

I have not posted for some time. Unsure if this will be a one off or not. Over the last months I have seen a pain specialist and had nerve ablation to try and reset pain reactions of Fibromyalgia using one area of deep pain. Not working for most of the body but some relief in the area targeted. Challenges both personal and work related are still hurtling at me, faster than I  can manage but somehow the body moves on each day. Pain on average is between 7 to 9 each day. Depression off the scale. Some reduction in suicidal thoughts perhaps due to new medication perhaps not. Conversation continues with psychiatrist and I do believe he cares and is working to provide support. Yet again however I find myself struggling to take the medication.  I plan to email him about this over the weekend.  It gives him time to consider things before we talk. As we begin to move into the second half of 2022 I do wonder about what will be the situation at the end of the year.

Hi Jacqui51,

Im sorry you are feeling this way.

I understand that the level of pain you are experiencing would be difficult to deal with.

Im sorry you are struggling to take your medication, can I ask why you are finding this hard to take?

Can I ask if your medication is for your pain level or for your depression.

Hang in there

No idea re why medication becomes a battle unless linked to memory of my first  psychiatrist.  When under his care I was so heavily medicated staff at the hospital put in formal complaints. Medication is for both pain, depression and suicidal thoughts.

Hi Jacqui51,

I'm sorry that you were heavily medicated by your first psychiatrist and this may cause you distress.

I understand that fear of any sort can cause us to react to things in certain ways.

Have you been able to address this with a psychologist? If this is the cause of you finding it hard to take your medication they could try to help you challenge the thoughts or give you strategies.

I'm so sorry you have been  experiencing pain and suicidal thoughts I understand that these intrusive thoughts can be hard to deal with has a psychologist been able to you help you with these thoughts?
