To all the beautiful people π
Words placed in a particular order can have a profound effect on us.
Words can bring us a moment of comfort, give us a different perspective, or change the course of our thinking and outlook entirely.
I would like this to be a space where we share quotes that have meaning to us or that have the potential to bring some comfort or encouragement to somebody, even if just for the moment in which they are reading it.
I will start.
Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow." - Mary Anne Radmacher
Go gently with yourselves lovely people.

Hello SN,
Of course, it's wonderful for you to join this thread.
Anybody and everybody is welcome to join in, even if you've never posted before.
If you have an uplifting, encouraging or comforting poem, passage, quote etc that you love please share it here. It could have a profound effect on somebody reading along.
This is a place to come and read words that will soothe your aching heart, encourage you during your difficult day, or boost you when you feel like crawling into a ball. Or remind you that it's totally ok to crawl into a ball π.
Scroll back through the entries, read what helps ... jot it down into a journal.
Feel comforted here.
All welcome with very open arms β€

One for you Birdy, upon the sad loss of a beloved pet. By an unknown author.
The Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are safe, warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill or old are restored to health and vigour. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again. Just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing. They each miss someone very special to them, someone who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day eventually comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Their bright eyes intent, their eager body quivering. Suddenly they run from the group, flying over the green grass, their legs carrying them faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion. The happy kisses (or pecks) rain upon your face, your hands again caress the beloved head. You look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, previously gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.

DONβT QUIT
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a fellow turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
Whe he might have captured the victor's cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint in the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It might be near when it seems afar.
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.
