Who else likes gardening?

Hi everyone

I hope you're staying well today.

Who else likes gardening? I would love to connect with people here who are happy to share their gardening adventures.

For me I know that gardening helped heal my soul during tough times. I hope it will again.
Then with other things going on, it became a jungle.
I'm part way into rediscovering it again and doing A LOT of hard yakka atm, when I am motivated.

I have new dreams and ideas to put into the many bare places, as I remove thickets of lantana etc. This will all be on a tight budget and I'm ok with that.

I want to create a peaceful place where I can be.
I would like to grow food again (tell 'er she's dreamin' atm lol).
I would like to re-establish my worm farms and compost heaps.
Autumn is such a beautiful time of the year in the garden.

I'm 'alone' in my gardening journey and would love to share and hear about other's gardening antics. Hopefully we can troubleshoot any issues in our gardens and talk about any healing we're feeling too. There's a lot of knowledge we can share. I hope this thread can brighten your day!

Oh no no no Em, My horticulture or scientific knowledge is definitely far from amazing. Though it may sound like it. I was getting worried that I sounded like a know it all with all those scientific words or some kind of lecturer in my last post. That is why I came back just now to write another post. Scared what anyone here would think of me. That I had a swelled giantatic know it all head.

It takes me ages to unravel and understand anything that is factual. Emotional stuff speaks incredibly loud in me most of the time. It clouds the thinking part of me.

Hi Mark

Have you googled to see where the closest one is?
Or a permie group?

Also there are FANTASTIC groups here called "The Mens Shed" which I love and am thinking of dressing like a man just to get in when I semi retire lol!
I know some small towns have them and they are great for the communities.

Sounds like you've been plenty busy in your garden. Have you got any things planned for this week?

Oh yeah the MEN'S SHEDS ARE AWESOME!

The Men's Shed here makes great standing worm farms in baths for schools and sell them for cost of materials, then go and set them up lol. They also take old bikes and do them up for families who can't afford bikes - awwww.

But what I love most about them are all the friendships that are forged through working together.
These sheds have changed lives and enriched their own lives while enriching other's lives - synergy, can't get better than that!

What's ready to harvest in your patch Matchy?

LOLOLOLOL AWESOME Samsonsam! I laughed when I read your post, how gorgeous is THAT!

What gardening did you do?

I'm about to give in making my Leaf Mould No. 1 a pure leaf mould because I'm going to add lots of other composting stuff. I'll keep Leaf Mould No. 2 pure.

Happy gardening!
