I have been struggling eating and eating healthy foods over the last couple of weeks. I really do not want to go back further to how I use to eat, that is eating junk food, takeaways, copious amounts of chocolate, processed junk and comfort eating.

Finding it challenging to stay motivated to actually prepare what I know helps me feel better mentally, emotionally and physically. Plus I have been feeling overwhelmed with other stuff happening in my life, which somehow makes it more challenging. The old unhealthy comfort eating thing is coming back. And I think I am getting concerned and scared about that. I so much do not want to go back to how I use to be. I was so sick. Plus I now have some physical things not right in my body , so I need to be more careful and mindful of what I eat. ( Pre cancer cells , high blood pressure )

I was eating really well since Febuary of this year, it’s just the last couple of weeks I haven’t.

So I would like to use this thread to help me be accountable to Beyond Blue people. So like a diary where I can post and report what I eat. And also any healthy eating tips, motivating strategies to help eat better or anything related to healthy eating for our bodies including our mental health.

Do you like the taste of the dandelion? When do you drink the teas, during the day and night? My family quite likes dandelion tea!

I feel sad about that with the mirror - it is a hard feeling and I struggle with it too. I'm glad you can talk about it here, maybe many others feel the same... I feel like I see someone different every time I look in the mirror, some times i can handle it, sometimes not. Maybe it was just one of those days when you didn't like the reflection, it is hard 😞

Yes in America I ate more fast food and unhealthy food. Nothing fresh. I'm excited for the delivery!! He has these cute little avocados, so small, they have a deliscious flavour! How are you today Shelll

I like getting deliveries as well. Though the organic store is pretty close to our place. The avocados sound super cute. Good size for 1 person. And so good for us hey.

Hope I did not make it harder for you Sleepy mentioning the mirror. I am sorry if it made you sad. I felt quite ugly when I saw my reflection. Though I have been told I am not. For me I think it is based on rejection issues. I so much want to be free from that. And not care what people think. When you think about it logically does it really matter what others think. This is what I am trying to tell myself anyway. It doesn't bother me at all what others look like. So why should it bother myself what I look like.

No didn't like the dandelion tea at all.

My eating was all over the place today. I was not feeling real hungry at all.

Breakfast... None

Lunch... None

Snack... Grapes and 2 hot chocolates. 2 mandarines

Dinner.... Falafel subway with lots of salad.

No junk today

Breakfast... Iced mocha (banana, date, cacao, coffee, soy milk)

2 mandarines

Lunch... Roast vegetable salad with greens

Cherry, pineapple, banana smoothie

hi Shelll, nice one with those smoothies. Cherry is so yum in smoothies. I'm always sad about the mirror stuff and just sad that others go through it too, but no need to worry 🙂

The delivery came today and I was pretty chuffed, so convenient! I tasted some of the organic produce, had a pear, a chunk of watermelon, a red pepper (was really tasty), and some salted peanuts. it's nice to have a variety of stuff, so that was good. I'll have to look in the box to see what else is there! The only "treat" I got was a bag of popcorn and I ate almost all of it which will probably make me sick.

I find chips and popcorn very addictive.

I haven't really been eating meals, I have some chicken soup in the fridge but haven't been bothered heating it up or cooking much - low energy/mood/bit sad. For me it's hard to cook when i'm not feeling good.
This is hard because even on the days I"m not feeling so chirpy i still need to eat!

I did have some plain rice and curry with lots of veg, and the smoothie was really filling too 🙂

Yeah I know it is challenging to prepare meals when our mood is low or when feeling sad. That is one of the reasons why I drink fresh juices and smoothies. At least I am flooding my body with some nutrients.

I noticed you had plain rice and curry with lots of veg... That's super good as is the smoothie.

Organic fruit and vegetables taste so much better don't they? I love how you got a box delivered to yourself. It feels a bit like a present that you have received.

I also like popcorn. Apart from the tiny packets I had away. I do occasionally make my own. With a air popcorn maker thing. It does not need any oil. I just need to work out how to make flavour stick to it.

I am struggling a little with eating meals as well. I had no dinner last night...no wait I did have a few spoonfuls of black bean bolognese. Just to check the flavour of it. I wasn't really hungry. But unfortunately a few hours later, I drove to the shop and bought junk. Then ate all that. Not cool.

At the moment here it's 12: 15 pm. I have not eaten or drank anything since I woke up. So from 8am or so. But I will go and make a smoothie very soon.

I am glad you are enjoying all your organic bits and pieces.

Those air poppers are so fun!!

It is a fun snack isn't it? I like the positivity of realising that we can flood our body with nutrients. We can fill ourselves up when we do have the energy, with good foods!

Did you feel more hungry today throughout the day? The smoothies sound like a good way to get something nutritious in and help the giddiness of not eating. Also trying to eat small things when I feel completely not hungry, so I can understand those tastes of bolognaise. Sounds really yum and interesting.

The delivery was absolutely like a little present, espeically at these times when we aren't really allowed to socialise and connect, that small act of having a person at my door is soothing and nice. The store owner came with this huge smile on his face, very excited and proud of his produce, and it was VERY much like getting a present. I'm still enjoying it 🙂

Lunch... So I made a smoothie/juice with spinach, cucumber, broccoli stem, apple, pineapple, avocado, lime and flax seeds. I also ate 1/2 cup of left over mashed potato and some grapes.

A few hours later I drank a juice with carrot, beetroot, ginger, orange and mint.

Dinner.... Brussel sprout and red cabbage slaw with cashew based dressing. With a salad of lettuce, cucumber and red capsicum. Roast potatoes.

Then I went down hill from there. I will be okay. But something happened in my life that left me feeling rejected and sad. So I drove mindlessly out to get junk food. It was 9pm.I bought 1 packet of TV snacks biscuits, 5 ferro roshers and 180gram block of chocolate. I have not eaten the block yet. But after eating the other, I just felt like a stuffed up again. And I am so sick of it.

I am glad I ate lots of healthy stuff today. But still feel huge regret and that I let myself down once again.
