I have been struggling eating and eating healthy foods over the last couple of weeks. I really do not want to go back further to how I use to eat, that is eating junk food, takeaways, copious amounts of chocolate, processed junk and comfort eating.
Finding it challenging to stay motivated to actually prepare what I know helps me feel better mentally, emotionally and physically. Plus I have been feeling overwhelmed with other stuff happening in my life, which somehow makes it more challenging. The old unhealthy comfort eating thing is coming back. And I think I am getting concerned and scared about that. I so much do not want to go back to how I use to be. I was so sick. Plus I now have some physical things not right in my body , so I need to be more careful and mindful of what I eat. ( Pre cancer cells , high blood pressure )
I was eating really well since Febuary of this year, it’s just the last couple of weeks I haven’t.
So I would like to use this thread to help me be accountable to Beyond Blue people. So like a diary where I can post and report what I eat. And also any healthy eating tips, motivating strategies to help eat better or anything related to healthy eating for our bodies including our mental health.

Hi MM, how you going
Yes I believe you would know what I meant. Once you have been in the "feel good, feel lighter, have more energy, no brain fog healthy stage" you can tell the difference. I long to be there again. Life was so much more enjoyable.
Think I feel stuck again the junkfood trap. I got out before though. Its pretty bad for me at the moment. I have been considering doing a juice fast as a way to get myself out. And a way to overdose on nutrition and flood my body with all the useful vitamins and minerals again.
I do remember enjoying scrumptious salads and juices as well. Even remember craving green leaves. I want to go back. Think my taste buds are changing back to the "junkfood era"
Bit more challenging when you are travelling to eat well. I remember going to subway, eating more fruit. And ordering smoothies. Only ordering a side of vegetables at clubs etc
Hope you are getting along MM

Hi Shell,
I too have craved a green juice or salad...the taste buds adapt and change.
Yes getting into bad habits is easy and is a slippery slope I have no doubt that you will get on board the healthy train again though because you love it so much.
When you do your supermarket shop are you able to avoid the temptations then bcas it's much easier when they are not in the house.
I allow myself some junk, just a bit and I'm good with that. I haven't been losing any more weight I just stay around the same and it's annoying me. Trying to find the balance of being happy and satisfied and losing. But I obviously need less calories to keep losing.
When you eat out they give you so much food. It's a serving for two people really.
I have faith in you Shell, you can do this.

Hi all,
Im feeling really good and clear and energized. What you put it makes a noteble different in how u feel for sure. I had a massive salad for lunch and steak and mushrooms for dinner and just feel awesome. I didn't overfill myself and I have a surge of energy ATM. I did have a Kombucha one of those fermented drinks so maybe that helped as well.
Im back on the weight loss train...keeping score of what I'm eating and making sure I eat to lose fat. I'm still doing the weight loss competition and need to catch up since I haven't lost any weight in a while.
I really need to do this for me.

Hello Shelly, Magic, Guest and readers...🤗..
I didn’t make the fried rice the other night...still haven’t, I lost my oomph to cut everything up...
Magic I had a yummy salad tonight and added an egg in it..I really enjoyed it and know Tomorrow morning when I wake up, I will feel fairly light in my stomach....I don’t ear much for dinner or the next day I feel sluggish and bloated...I wish you all the luck I have, that you continue on your weight loss journey...I took a break from healthy eating and put on 2 kilos, now the weather is hot I eat lots of salads...
Shelly, I find it hard to stop at one row of chocolate or one paddle pop ice cream....If I eat too much chocolate it plays up with my faulty heart valve and I get so many ectopic beats and fast heart rate...that I’m too scared to have anymore...I think it’s about finding how much is enough so that it doesn’t effect us to badly....
I have so much faith in you Magic...if your doing it for you...you WILL do it....
Live to everyone...with a hug or 2 if you want/need them..
Grandy..

I believe you can do it too MM, you did it before. I know I have put on weight. My clothes feel tighter and uncomfortable. I am too scared to weigh myself. As I know I will be discouraged further by the number. Guessing I will need to loose somewhere between 20kg and 30kg though.
I like Kombucha as well. So good you feel Energised and clear.
Thankyou for having faith in me. Means a lot

Hi dear Grandy,
That light feeling in the tummy feels so much better then doesn't it. I am certain eating late into the night, eating a heavy dinner or eating bread in particular makes me feel the exact opposite. Heavy..
I hear you about the icecream. I use to buy the boxes of icecream... choc wedges, I think they were called. And eat the whole box in one day. I haven't done that for years. Because the only dairy I eat now is in milk chocolate itself.
Have you ever eaten quinoa?

Hi beautiful peoples
Well I feel physically a bit better today. Yesterday I juiced up apples, cucumber, spinach and lemon and drank about 500 mls of that. For lunch I had a salad of sorts with marinated tofu, quinoa, sweet potato, green beans and baby spinach with a light dressing on it all. The dressing was meh... I also ate a few mandarines. And chocolate. I am so glad I ate some nourishing food there.
This morning I made homemade baked beans for breakfast. A recipe from the "Happy Pear". They are twin Irish brothers ( chefs) and have an extensive ytube channel, with so so many recipes. Plus they are fun loving guys.. light hearted. Makes me happy watching them cook.
I get woolworths groceries delivered. They have just left the bags on the front verandah. Its a big shop. I am going to bring them in now

Hello Lovely Shelly...🤗
No I haven’t eaten Quinoa...I haven’t even heard of it....I will look it up on google and will check out the “Happy Pear” page as well....
Shelly...is it possible for you to have your “Dinner” around lunch time..then something light for your real Dinner time..maybe some fruit, salad or a smoothie with some healthy snacks like air fried popcorn....that way in the mornings you might feel a lot lighter in your stomach....only a gentle suggestion precious lady...
I do buy chocolate once a fortnight along with a box of ice creams ..(pay day) and if I finish them before next (pay day)..I won’t buy any more....I just don’t go to the supermarket more then once a fortnight...
i hope today is a good day for you Shelly and everyone reading...
My love, hugs and care to you all..

Thankyou Grandy
Your stores are quite a distance from you aren't they? I live about a 5 minute drive to a woolworths, a 24 hour service station is a couple of minutes walk. Plus countless takeaways all with 15 minutes drive radius. So some days it's challenging to not actually go to one, if a junk food craving hits.
No stress or pressure about the quinoa Grandy.
And yeah Thankyou for the suggestion about eating a heavier lunch. And something lighter for dinner, or even a juice etc. I have done that a few times now.
