Three things to be thankful for today

Some days it is really hard to find anything to be thankful for when we feel overcome by the darkness and fog of depression. If I look hard enough, I can find something to be thankful for.
I would like to encourage others to write down three things they are thankful for, and to realise there is a sense of hope available to us all. Sometimes it is just a little hard to find!
So my three things for today are:
1: The lovely singing of birds in the morning as they welcome in the new day
2: The ability to read and write
3: A lovely hot shower.
Wishing all the "family" in BB Land a day full of noticing the nice things in life. Kind regards to you all, from Dools.

I’m glad you had good meetings Croix and lovely to hear about Sumo’s comforting presence. I often think how nice it would be to be a cat and not have to be as busy as us humans and spend much of the day relaxing and sleeping. Pets can have such an assuring, calming and comforting presence.
For me today:
- My local pub where I had dinner tonight. It has a nice, homely atmosphere and a lovely view. I’m grateful for my small town community and was reflecting on it while eating dinner.
- My peach tree. The parrots have gotten most of the fruit which I don’t mind as I love having them in my back garden. But I got to eat one myself today. Probably could have waited a couple of days for it to ripen further but I was impatient.
- The sea breezes that blow across the land here. Even though a bit relentless at times they keep things cooler in summer and the air and landscape regularly feel cleansed and fresh. There’s something renewing about it.

I'm thankful that after 2weeks of trying various hair dressing salons I have eventually been able to make an appointment to have my hair cut next week! Who knew trying to get into a hairdresser was almost as hard as seeing a country Doctor!
I'm thankful that despite waking up like I need to cry and feel miserable for no apparent reason, I have been able to get up, shower, have breakfast and start my day.
I'm thankful for a little book I bought with great tips on how to pause and make the most of your day and life.

Today I’m thankful for:
1. Having someone staying with me a couple of days. It’s a different feeling going to bed at night and waking up in the morning knowing you’re not the only human in the house. It’s less isolating.
2. Getting about 7 hours good sleep as I didn’t have good sleep other nights recently.
3. The quiet here. Right now I can hear the sea rolling in in the distance, birds and a slight breeze.

Thankful for:
1. Kind people at my favourite local cafe.
2. My friendly and generous neighbour offering to help jumpstart my car.
3. Someone in my life beginning to understand some of the struggles I’ve had, partly because I’m getting better at not minimising my own experiences and I’m Iearning not to always make out I’m fine when sometimes I haven’t been.
