Three things to be thankful for today

Some days it is really hard to find anything to be thankful for when we feel overcome by the darkness and fog of depression. If I look hard enough, I can find something to be thankful for.

I would like to encourage others to write down three things they are thankful for, and to realise there is a sense of hope available to us all. Sometimes it is just a little hard to find!

So my three things for today are:

1: The lovely singing of birds in the morning as they welcome in the new day

2: The ability to read and write

3: A lovely hot shower.

Wishing all the "family" in BB Land a day full of noticing the nice things in life. Kind regards to you all, from Dools.

Today I am thankful for:

- the warm, sunny weather, not too hot

- a lovely, kind cousin who keeps in touch

- the lake surrounded by trees near my home where I’m sitting at the moment - so peaceful

- the peace and quiet of my beautiful town that is so calming and healing

- the understanding and support of the job agency I’m with in relation to easing myself back into the workforce

- the emerging feelings of starting to heal, even if incremental, and realising and valuing the importance of gentleness in that process

Today I am thankful for:

-this wonderful, caring and supporting community on the BB Forum

-an opportunity to go for a walk this morning

-realising that family and friends do care!

1. The beautiful moon. I’ve been watching it the last few nights. One night clouds were passing across it and moonbeams were coming out the top of the cloud.

2. Gardening Australia. It’s such a relaxing show that I’ve been watching tonight. It’s so therapeutic seeing all different kinds of plants. I got helpful gardening tips and the presenters are all such lovely people. It’s nice to see a gentle, relaxing TV show.

3. The interesting books I have. I’ve bought some I haven’t got to read yet so it’s something to look forward to.

Today I need to be thankful that all I have at present is mental health issues and Covid

Thankful I do not live in earthquake and war torn Syria

Thankful I have food, water, shelter, work (which I seem to be constantly stressed about) when I return and a husband that does seem to care in some small way that I am still around!

1. The kind people on the BB forum and all the people who make it possible, as it’s helping me through some tough times lately.

2. The homely-ness of my loungeroom. I feel safe, protected and peaceful in here.

3. The curry I cooked two nights ago, as it’s fed me three nights in a row, saving me the time and effort of cooking.

Today I am thankful because:

1/  I'm recovering from Covid and have been able to manage a walk each day, enjoying nature and feeling at peace.

2/ I seem to be moving out of Survival Mode to something a little less intense so can focus on osme self healing efforts

3/ A friend is supporting me with brutally honest and caring emails

Today I am thankful because

1/ I took myself to a cafe where I could social distance and also enjoy a delicious hot chocolate flavoured with orange

2/ I had the energy to do the grocery shopping

3/ I listened to a person I bumped into at the shops who told me she was having a really bad day.
