We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.

Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!

Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.

Best wishes
EM

What a BEAUTIFUL thing this is quirky. So much more powerful than anyone could imagine.
Love this! Thankyou quirky!

Hey everyone, I'm SO HAPPY that I get to come in to post my SELF-CARES and I thought gosh! Do I HAVE to limit these to 3? !!!

The self-care I took time to build over the past almost 2 years exactly lol have now become HABITS!!!
I now do so many things without even thinking about them >> habits.

Sure I could always do more but hey perfection has never been my aim. Simply moving towards better mental HEALTH.

So my 3 today lol:
~ took time out for myself in the garden
~ had a wonderful LONG nap just because I felt tired and it was the most loving thing I could do for myself at that moment
~ ate a yummy brunch.

Onwards and UPwards beautiful people,
Love EMxxxx

My 3 self-cares today:
~ slept in woohooo!
~ had a lovely time talking with my brother awww
~ re-did a section of my garden (I started yesterday), put together a soil mix then sowed some Alyssum and Sage seeds in my grand ole pot. Should look really pretty when they're all grown up and edible too! Yay!

Your garden would be such a special place to visit, EM. You sound like you take fantastic care of it.

My self-care things:

  • Found the time to do some creative writing
  • I also slept in, like EM
  • Got to spend some time with myself listening to music and reflecting

HI sbella! Lol my garden is as resilient as we are! Can't believe so many fruit trees survived under 2-3 storeys of lantana for years, then again knowing lantana can actually PROTECT our landscape.
I thanked it all as a ripped it out hahaha.

It's a beautiful, restful and even FUN place to be. I have to do something in the garden every day for my own happiness.

Wow creative writing? Awww that's so lovely. I'm not good at that, but that's okay, I'm glad you are!

My 3 self-cares today:
~ took lots of healthy food to work
~ had a long nap when I got home
~ listened to wonderful podcasts to keep me in the flow, assist raising my vibrations. It's so beautiful that it's working!

Had to really reflect to grasp what I did for self-care today as I’ve been going through a turbulent time and can get lost in the turbulence.

1. Asked for and received help from a neighbour with a potentially dangerous house structural issue after maintenance guy didn’t show up. Not very good at asking for help so it’s a good thing I’m slowly learning to do it. Always trying to not be a problem to anyone when so often people care and do want to help.

2. Read a book while enjoying a peaceful late afternoon and beautiful weather (which helped me worry less about above house structural issue before I was able to get help with it).

3. Started a conversation with a friendly man walking his dog while on a brief walk this morning. It was one of those moments of friendly human contact that lifts your day and spirits. The fact I feel up to reaching out to communicate is a good sign, as I’ve had reclusive tendencies in the past couple of years as part of feeling traumatised and in self-protection mode. It’s a bumpy road but navigating my way out of feeling stuck and frozen and finding my way gradually back to the land of the living.

Hey Eagle Ray, so nice to see you again!

Those are AWESOME self-cares, all in ONE day?
I'm impressed! Well done you. :-))

My self-cares today:
~ had occasion to spend time integrating some recent surprising happenings repeating the mantra "things are ALWAYS working out for me", loving this because even when things may not look like they are working out for me... things are always working out for me lol!
~ spent time gardening, yay!

~ talked with BF and he agrees, things are always working out for him too! Hahaha.

Beautiful self-care activities Eagle Ray and EM. Eagle Ray, it's always lovely having a nice chat with a stranger, and I'm proud of you for doing something that was out of your comfort zone.

EM, love that mantra. I suppose it's even useful in the context of what we perceive to be "failures" or things that we think didn't work out, because everything like that can be turned into a lesson or a learning experience too.

My self-care things:

  1. Shower, but one of those longer, luxurious ones
  2. Little bit of creative writing
  3. Writing in my calendar/to-do list (super therapeutic for me)

Lol hey sbella! I see you're writing writing and writing lol! So good to know.

Oh yeah I love that mantra because everything is always working out for me lol.
It's from "Abraham" Esther Hicks on YT. Every clip is about raising our vibrations and tbh I'm swimming in it atm.

Long luxe shower?
Snap almost. I just had a long luxe BATH.
I had to find a positive podcast to enjoy at the same time and wow Brene's podcast with Glennon Doyle was super fun to listen to. I'm ordering her book "Untamed" for my girls for Christmas now.
I didn't agree that everything said was mind blowing BUT I get the whole concept of how great her book is in its' entirety.

I was also amazed to her that both of these wonderful women are recovering addicts! For me I feel more depth of connection with their works now. I'm not a recovering addict. I can sure appreciate their journeys a lot more now.

Hope you have a GREAT Week everyone!
