We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.

Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!

Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.

Best wishes
EM

Hey everyone, new posters always welcome!

Blue, I missed your SC post about constructing the coat rack, WELL DONE YOU!
"Blue ain't pretty without coffee" lol... you SO Are pretty any time my friend lol.

Kitty, WOW doing all those things for yourself, AWESOME! LOVE how you're reminding yourself to MOVE, just move, getting some movement in is great too. We can all have "object permanence issues" lol... so glad you found the Self-care thread again.
I NEED the reminders 100%.

My self-care today:
~ showed some courage talking to BF about some difficult things for me to talk about (his responses were incredible, amazing, comforting and just awesome, because HE is awesome. I really appreciate him in my life at all, I hope we can see each other soon)
~ slept in
~ made TONS of healthy, nutritious foods today and prepped ahead for my work meals too. It's gonna be a tough week at work due to feeling so unwell. I need to have lots of healthy foods.

Hi all & welcome to our new and less frequent posters 🙂

Thanks, EM, I'm happy about the coat rack. Haha, you sound like LM, he would say I'm pretty any time, too. I dunno, I've been known to Hulk out without coffee. Some might argue the Hulk is pretty? 😉 So glad you talked to BF about all the things you're dealing with at the moment.

My self cares:

1) Took a day with LM to be with our dear Sir Pecks. (I'll keep details to my grief thread, today was self care but also hard.)

2) Decided not to keep my phone with me today. I needed not to be accessible whenever someone else felt like it.

3) Connected with LM and Mr Feisty, importantly in the context of our relationships with Sir Pecks.

Hi everyone!

Self care to me is time to reflect and have time to yourself, eating well and exercising where possible. Have found creating a list helps if lacking motivation - adding self care to the list is important. If you are a bit forgetful like myself, even blocking out an hour of your day and adding it to your phone calendar can serve as a reminder 😊

Hey eagle, smallwolf, M1993
Thankyou for your valuable self-care points. It's really lovely to see how others view self-care. Such gentle reminders of things we can also do for ourselves.
We really appreciate your posts!
Hope to see you soon

Hey Blue, perhaps because I know your back story, your self-care points have so much depth to them today.
Much love and care, EMxxxx

Today:

I almost had coffee this morning but stopped myself just in time & made my breakfast of cereal early instead.

I made a sort of Greek style salad - & not mountain size, so I can call it a

'Greek Island Salad'

I made a decision I think is in my own best interest, because I have to respect some limitations in myself.

Hi all and welcome to new posters,

Thanks EM, very poignant day when I last posted. A bit more chill today. My self cares:

1) Had lunch with a couple of work friends, made sure LM wasn't on his own while I was out. It was a good interlude from the chaos of my life as it is at the moment.

2) Went for a walk after lunch. It was raining and my friends didn't fancy walking in it - didn't mean I couldn't.

3) Unpacked the LED candles I ordered a while back (they just came in the mail) and used them. They have a nice ambiance that's - importantly - okay to use in the same room as LM's oxygen!
