Hi everyone..
Their are days when just getting out of bed is a huge achievement...Other days we can achieve things like washing up the dishes or clothes, sweeping the floors, mopping the floors..very mundane and automatic robot like chores for the mentally well...They do these chores without even thinking about them...for people struggling with their mental health..these are huge tasks...
Very often I’ll get my vacuum cleaner out to vacuum ...then it will sit their for days, me looking at it, walking over it...until I can get motivated enough to vacuum..after I do find the motivation to vacuum...I am pleased with myself...
Right now I have a small foot cycling peddle machine, sitting on my front veranda..I got it out last week..to start exercising..it’s still their, I’m still looking at it...My thoughts each night is I’ll use it for a few minutes tomorrow..
My car hasn’t been washed getting close to a year now I think...Today I did managed to wash it....and discovered that it has a nice shine on it.....I did it...I achieved something positive today..which made me feel better in myself...
Have you achieved a little something today...and how did it make you feel...If you want to share that achievement it might make other people a bit more motivated to achieve something they need/want to do..
Looking forward to hearing about your achievement....and how it made you feel..
Little steps and achievements can lead to bigger steps..and bigger achievements...
My kindest and most caring thoughts...everyone.
Grandy...

Triggered today, & I took charge, & decided to have a Vent, & to Let It Go.
It's better now, though not as far in the back shelves as I'd like it to be. It's okay, well, manageable.

Decided to work from home today as it’s cold and rainy.
I made a quiche for lunch and will have leftovers from dinner.
Feel so much better for not having to go into the office today.
in between phone calls and emails I can do my own thing.

Hi everyone! I normally like to read a whole thread before I hop in, out of respect, but it's a loooot, and it looks like the kind of thread where I can get the general gist without reading it all, I hope that's ok! I did skim a few, and don't mean to be all "never-mind-you-look-at-meee", but I do intend to read on in the future and be encouraging and involved where I can.
Boy do I need this concept, I'm seriously isolated and can't seem to find places to get the little nods and praises I need to keep me going, especially for these "small" things which are often actually very big to me! Today is an especially rough day, but I will give myself credit for having breakfast this morning and taking my vitamins. I would feel more accomplished if I also manage to get dressed and make it to tonight's support group meeting on skype (even if it doesn't go well or makes me feel worse.)
I appreciate this space to say so and make the deal out of it that it is to me.

Doolhof
welldone. I did something similar, a woman wanted to bargain with my books which were $4
each. I usually just give in as I don’t like conflict.

sbella I think saying goodbye to a friend would be a significant achievement for anyone, but I suppose if you in particular wanted to mention it in this space then it must be of particular personal significance to you. Warm thoughts to you missing your friend and to your friend returning home.
Today was rougher for me, I wish my excitement when my mood peaks like that would carry into the next day more often. Not sure what I would call an achievement today. I suppose I did try on and categorise the new clothes that arrived that I'd ordered online, which was actually kind of exhausting, but nice to have the things I need. I don't know that it made me feel much one way or the other, I guess other than being able to say right now that the day consisted of something, which does help bring my mental balance one dit over to the light side. I'm a bit frustrated that where I am seems to have reached a dust saturation point and I've not yet found the strength to deep clean it, and a bit worried that I might be right on the edge of getting sick because of it (and these aren't good times for getting sick!) An achievement could be that I recognised minor building symptoms enough to put some pre-emptive vicks vapour rub on my chest, and at least thought about the state of the house, which is the first step to maybe doing something about it tomorrow or soon.

I'm trying to make some fruity pancakes, tonight. Trying not to get too distracted reading the forums while cooking. (I do try to not do other things while cooking, but not reading long posts, or trying to write short posts helps me not burn them too much!
😺
& I wasn't sure if I could eat the leaves on the tops of strawberries, so googled the question, & so I now know for sure I can, so long as they are fresh, not old leaves, as they can be harmful. No worries!
