Small achievement you managed to do today....How did it make you feel? Did it help you feel better today?

Hi everyone..

Their are days when just getting out of bed is a huge achievement...Other days we can achieve things like washing up the dishes or clothes, sweeping the floors, mopping the floors..very mundane and automatic robot like chores for the mentally well...They do these chores without even thinking about them...for people struggling with their mental health..these are huge tasks...

Very often I’ll get my vacuum cleaner out to vacuum ...then it will sit their for days, me looking at it, walking over it...until I can get motivated enough to vacuum..after I do find the motivation to vacuum...I am pleased with myself...
Right now I have a small foot cycling peddle machine, sitting on my front veranda..I got it out last week..to start exercising..it’s still their, I’m still looking at it...My thoughts each night is I’ll use it for a few minutes tomorrow..

My car hasn’t been washed getting close to a year now I think...Today I did managed to wash it....and discovered that it has a nice shine on it.....I did it...I achieved something positive today..which made me feel better in myself...

Have you achieved a little something today...and how did it make you feel...If you want to share that achievement it might make other people a bit more motivated to achieve something they need/want to do..

Looking forward to hearing about your achievement....and how it made you feel..

Little steps and achievements can lead to bigger steps..and bigger achievements...

My kindest and most caring thoughts...everyone.

Said no to my father.

All these years I've really worked so hard to please my parents and their ego, to the extent that I studied a uni course based on their expectations. A few days ago, my dad rang me to talk about this business opportunity that could make me earn more than my monthly salary in a single party. I said no because I'm not a puppet anymore. Wished I could have this power 5 years ago because I missed so many opportunity just because I didn't have the virtue of saying no. It feels powerful. I feel in control. I let no parental ego poison me.

Hi Sleepy21,

oh good for you I never did quite get to my shower 😕 !

Sounds awesome ypla.

Sounds like it would have taken a lot of guts to say no. Especially to your Dad.

Taking your power back like Dr Phil likes to say hehe

Hello everyone..

Hello Juliet... I’m pleased also that you found this thread...That’s okay about not getting to your shower...when your feeling up to it..is an okay time to have one...🌹

Reading your achievements has warmed my heart...your all so much more stronger then we think....

Wow..ypla...you are so brave for standing up to your dad, I think you’re awesome for doing that....

I can never stand up for myself or even say no...If I try to debate other people’s words...I can feel my mouth quivering while I’m trying to hold back my fear of speaking up for myself......Then I give them the answer they want to hear and get away from them quickly....

I did achieve something today....I am pleased about ..I have 3 x 15 litre water containers that I strategically placed under the place the gutter overflows and filled them up one at a time...took a while...I am very happy hat I am rewarded with fresh clean rainwater....I got soggy wet as well...

Well done everyone on your achievements..

Dear Sleepy...

I am so sorry...I meant to say...That although I can shower regularly enough...washing my hair is another story...I have thick..very thick frizzy, curly, long hair....that I hate washing or even getting it wet...it’s takes me hours to straighten...

Well done in washing and brushing your hair...I could imagine how fresh you would have felt after...

Hello all.

I'm honestly surprised how helpful I'm finding this thread... knowing I'm not the only one finding showering etc too hard... I'm not feeling such a complete idiotic failure as I have been feeling...

It's also helped in another way... I've had a long list of "to do" things it feels like forever... I've been struggling to do any of them for a few reasons including simply being overwhelmed by trying to work which was more important & so therefore needed to be done first...

But with this thread I'm managing to flip my thinking from worrying about everything needing doing... to picking something I can simply add to my new "done" list.

Yesterday I repaired two plant pots

Today I moved an old broken bar fridge from the back verandah to the back shed & then I sprayed my ride on mower with surface spray as it hasn't been used for awhile & is covered in webs.

I know these might not be big achievements for everyone... they are for me.
