Hi All,
In the past there may have been threads on sleep and how to improve our quality of sleep.
I am starting this thread up and hope to include past thread titles.
For some of us sleep is a real issue, the more we can learn about it the better informed we will be.
Funny stories on weird places you have fallen asleep are welcome as well.
For me, I had just moved house and was very busy getting everything organised. Friends invited me to the drag races. I was so tired and exhausted that I sat down, leant against the fence right near the starting line and fell asleep for most of the evening.
Hope to read some of your stories and tips.
Cheerio for now, from Mrs. Dools

Hi Dools,
Lol yes reading always makes me tired, the funny thing is I was very tired last night but when I went to bed I just couldn't sleep but I couldn't get up because I was so tired, for some reason I couldn't get comfortable and felt a bit restless. I'm not sure if the medication my dr put my on made me wake up.
I'll have to see how I go tonight and I try some of those things you suggested 🙂
Thank you,
Keypi 🙂

HI again Keypi,
All you can do is try! I know that some nights reading will send me to sleep other nights I can read for hours and still not feel tired!
Really hope something helps!
Cheers again from Dools

Hi all
Keypi - how was the house sitting? get a good sleep?
Dools - you mentioned reading can be good for dropping off...the last two books I read I was so engrossed in that may have been part of the problem actually. I just wanted to keep reading ha ha!
Paul - great points, I can relate to several of them sigh...
still waking up every few hours but at least going to sleep (for the first time) alot earlier than 3am 😉

Hi Annie,
The house sitting was good and the bed was really comfy 🙂 I was tired and able to get to sleep ok but staying asleep is always the hard part over all I got 3-4 hours over the night after waking up several times.
Since I haven't had much sleep recently I gave in and had a nap today to some what help my brain function lol. I have a good feeling about tonight though. I'm going to set up and audio book that helps sometimes 🙂
Well going to sleep before 3am is still good, and yes it can be hard to put down a good book.
Talk to you guys soon,
Keypi 🙂

Hi Keypi
I don't mind a nap in the day but I haven't been able to have one lately. What is it with waking up over and over during the night?! grrr
Going to get a massage today - can't wait!

Hi annie, Keypi and All,
Yes, sometimes I think we need to find a mediocre book to read before sleeping! One that will be interesting enough but not to the point where you want o keep reading! Ha. Ha.
This morning I was so tired at 9.30 I went back to bed. I don't usually do this, obviously I was exhausted for one reason or another so decided to do as my body needed.
In some countries people do have a siesta in the middle of the day, shops shut and re open later. Maybe those people have it right! Who knows.
Cheers all from Dools

Hi everyone,
Has anyone heard of or tried weighted blankets for aiding with sleep?
If I have asked this before just add memory loss to lack of sleep as my list of woes!!

Hi Quirky,
Yes, I did hear of this idea being advertised recently. I don't know how it would go with people suffering from aches and pains though, all that added weight would increase pressure.
In all this heat we are having in our region, anything more than a sheet is too much! Might work if we left the air conditioner on all night! Unless you can have something weighted and not too warm!
Hey, I know, load a plastic covering up with ice! There! Sorted!
Cheers all. I have tonight organised!

Hi Everyone how are we all doing?
Annie - A massage sounds nice I think I really should book in to get one too, I hope you have a nice time 🙂
Dools - Haha yes a half decent book but not too gripping 😛 Yes sometimes I think we just have to let our body rest do what it needs and try to reset. And I'm keen to try your new ice blanket invention 😄
Quirky - I have recently been thinking if it would be a good idea or not, I haven't yet made the dive to get one though still trying to decide plus they are pretty expensive. So I want to know if I really want one or not.
Keep cool,
Keypi 🙂
