Hello Everyone....
I love nature and I find it very helpful in helping me in healing way..when Iβm not in a good head space...I was wondering if others feel the same and am hoping that you might share your piece of nature, whether itβs a small patch of grass in your back yard..somewhere that you drive to, to just relax, somewhere close to you that you walk amongst...and if you have really taken the time to listen, watch, feel, smell, the wonders all around us..
I love nature..the trees, flowers, creatures both big and small, itβs my solitude place, a place I go to when things are getting to hard for me..
I am lucky, I have this huge gumtree which I found out about recently...
It was planted around 70 years ago by a local here when she was a little girl, and living in the house Iβm now living in...About 5 years after she planted it, a strong wind with rain blew it down....A few of the locals saw her trying to stand it up to replant it...and they came to help her...and successfully managed to replant it....Today itβs easily over 60feet tall and just as wide, the trunk of the tree would need 4 people to hug it by joining hands..
The tree stands in front of my place and in front of the paddocks across from me..which the owner has some Angus cows, which love to lay under the tree....Birds are everywhere here, and a few use the tree as their home..
I sit outside for hours sometimes, watching the birds come and go for food and water I have supplied for them in bird feeders and bird baths....Itβs a beautiful and peaceful way to relax watching and feeling what Mother Nature has provided for us...
For me itβs both calming and healing...
Do you have a piece of nature around you...and how does it make you feel when you take the time to just look and take in the wonder of it all....
We would love to hear about how nature helps you...and do you find that it can be healing for your soul...
Kind and caring thoughts everyone..
Grandy..

Hey nature lovers
I came out the front door yesterday with the chicken's food and there were 2 rainbow lorikeets sitting in a tree so close to the front door that I could have touched them. What surprised me is that they didn't move, just chirped when I said hello!
I took a photo of them and later when the seed was out, they hopped around my feet in amongst the chickens to eat their seed too lol.
They were back again this morning. So sweet to see.
I loved reading about the Community chickens there in your town!
My chickens think they own everyone's gardens too.
But they come home each night and nestle in the laundry lol.
The wind's come up now, a lovely breeze and bit blustery too, like it's trying to get my attention and remind me it's there.
Later this week, when I'm rested and after I've cleaned up more, I look forward to spending time in my garden. I should grab the opportunity to do the heavy jobs while the weather is cooler but self-care takes priority atm.
Green Bin collection this week! That gets me pretty excited to get in to the garden and a chop some branches down to fill it up!
Hope you can all spend some time surrounded in nature or simply observe the beautiful sky we share up above.

Hello everyone
Today I went for my walk, along a path that runs along side my local beach. Sun on my skin, wind in my hair, watching the waves and swimmers alike having fun.
The path takes me through a bush area and suddenly my view changed. Every shade of green imaginable. Who knew there were so many?
Then a blue willy wag tail bird caught my eye. It was so bright and beautiful, chirping and hopping next to me on the path.
You might think I'm crazy, but I felt like this little bird was trying to catch my attention and we had a wonderful moment of connection before it flew into the bush.
That wee bird made my day.
Kind thoughts to all

Hello everyone...
Thank you for your beautiful posts....about your time in nature...
Matchy...Your acreage sounds beautiful...and not far away from where you live...you get to see and experience a little part of nature that is untouched...emus are funny creatures, I love their comical looking face...I feel happy that you can visit your oasis for some peace and the beautiful universal music of the birds...
The community chicken do go home at home, then back out the next morning...,they are so cute...I wish I could have chickens here..My neighbours chickens used to pop into her lounge room through the day to say hello to her...I was their once when that happened...She has taken over the care of her sons Siberian Husky a few months ago..My neighbour and I helped her....had to put a fence up ton keep the chickens and ducks safe..they have half the back yard..
Summer Rose...Oh that was so cute with the little silly wagtail bird..and Iβm so happy that it made your day....I think Willy wagtails and those tiny little finches are put on earth for our entertainment..I mean they just seem to be playing and singing constantly....Nature can make us feel so good inside ourselves when we can βconnect β with it..maybe the little Willy wagtail bird was their to help you connect and have a better day...I can imagine all the different shades of green would have been so amazing to see..and hopefully it brought some peace to your beautiful soul...
Thank you so much for sharing how nature can and is always their for us to escape from our overly chatty minds and busy lifestyle to give us a bit of pleasure, peace and a semifinal calm into our lives..
The best live βTVβ show is just outside our front door..and their are never any repeats...I hope that everyone can find some time to enjoy our beautiful nature..
Love n hugs...
Grandy..

Hey Tay Tay
What are your favourite animals?
My cat just came in to see me, probably expects me to feed him asap! He was into LOTS of cuddles yesterday lol.
Our dog has been sleeping on my son's bed whilst he came home for a few days. Doggie must have missed son so much because he's barely left his side lol.
Time to feed my chickens!
I've named the male Brush Turkey Busy Bertie Brush Turkey lol he's turned my leaf mould compost into his OWN nest! So nice seeing human constructions used for birds. I don't mind at all since I worked out what he was doing yesterday. Took me a while to work it out though.
I can see the HUGE Gum Tree flowering and they look so sweet! The branches are all soaked dark brown from the rain.
Maybe the rain will abate after the storm last night. I might be able to spend some time gardening before the kids wake up if it does... maybe... maybe not lol.
It's nice waking before dawn, so peaceful, now I can hear the birds squawking away and the community waking up too... cars, buses, trains.

Hello Tay, EM, Mark, Summer Rose and everyone..π€..
Tay, Iβm so pleased you found this thread..and welcome you with open arms...Are you able to spend time walking around a beautiful park, or somewhere where you can see different types of trees, flowers, little creatures..or even just sit in the sun and watch the clouds drifting across the sky...Thatβs my favourite thing I do for mindfulness/meditation etc..I still have a really hard time going anywhere on my own..especially walking..which I havenβt done for a few months now..I need my support worker with me....or a friend...
Oh I Lol when I read the name of the brush turkeys...I have heard that are very intelligent creatures...although if you are lucky enough to be able to spend time watching any creatures..large or small, they are all intelligent...
I try to make sure that I sit outside each day...It helps to relieve my anxiety...I have mountains in the not so far distance, and yesterday I After the storms past my place..It was fairly late and dark...I sat outside and watched the lightening as it gave off a brilliant light show...Nothing will ever be able to beat Mother Nature or our beautiful universe..Its a brand new each day and never any repeats...each day is different and beautiful to view..the sounds of the birds happily singing is different each day..even the way the clouds form are different each day....Nothing stays the same...things change, sounds change...We wake up every morning to a completely different Orchestra of Sounds..If only we take the time to really stop..look..and listen..
My kindest and most caring thoughts everyone...you are all awesome and beautiful people...

Hi Grandy,
This is a wonderful thread - thank you for bringing it to us π
I don't go out anywhere near as much as I would like - am normally in the 4 walls of my flat and no yard - and have windows closed etc stay in bed. But today have opened 2 windows and just getting some breeze makes me feel a bit better. I will have to do it more often. Baby steps to getting me to the point of as you do sit outside each day..you are right it is huge for mental health. I hope you are well and that ppl keep sharing their stories of nature x

Hey golden, that breeze you're feeling when you open your windows IS nature connecting with you. All you have to do is open your windows to let it.
Well BB Brush turkey is a CRAZY man! Lol... he's SO fussy about what goes IN to his nest and what goes OUT. He stripped all the leaves off my huge tomato vine I TRIED to put in my leaf mould compost (he's building his nest out of lol) and he kicked the vine parts OUT.
omg the fussiest turkey known to man lol.
We had a female Brush Turkey we named Morgana, from Merlin. She was very cute while she was a baby and it was clear she wanted to be one of my chickens. She was having an identity crisis which I had sympathy for! lol.
She ate beside my chickens.
Slept side to side with my chickens.
Talked to me just like my chickens do when I go into the laundry at night.
She was FULL ON "I AM A CHICKEN" lol.
Then she got a bit crazy during mating season and freaked out alot.
She must have accepted who she really was and gave in to it - went back to the bush nearby.
She still visits, I can tell who she is because she comes to me when I talk to my chickens, and she's a bit dishevelled.
Well the misty rain has continued. I think we've only had 3 half sunny days before rain again or even a storm, during these school hols.
I'm sat here in my Winter PJs again and THAT'S really unusual for this time of year.
Tbh I'm enjoying the reprieve from a scorching Summer.
This morning it was sunny and hot.
Then it rained as I was driving my son to work.
As I was backing out the driveway I was afraid the car was billowing steam! Argh I thought, not another car packing it in!
Then we drove and the STEAM billowing up from the roads was a mystical sight to see, wow!
At the big intersection the dark wet road and billowing steam made it look like an eerie lake in Scotland or somewhere. Amazing.
And Grandy THE CLOUDS have been so beautiful to see!! Some moving so fast, some laying low on the hills nearby. I love clouds.
Our water tanks are FULL which is something really great hey Matchy??
Connecting with nature is balm for the soul.
Love EM
