Meditation, Manifesting, Gratitude & The Law of Attraction

Hi everyone,

Not sure where to start so hope I can express myself clearly and maybe with others' input we can expand on this. I'm interested in people's thoughts/ experience with meditation, manifesting, gratitude & the law of attraction. I've recently started using the Smiling Mind app to meditate when going to sleep and sometimes when feeling a little anxious, like tonight. It is something i thought i could never do as my mind rarely stops, however, with persistence, I find I enjoy it. I guess i tend to have a negative mindset which I am determined to change.I always felt uneasy about thinking positive things as i thought i would jinx myself, and that whenever I made a positive comment or felt happy it would go wrong or something negative would happen. So i refrained from allowing myself to be too happy, I guess to 'protect' myself. Recently i have been feeling happier, stronger, expressing gratitude and taking note of when things have come to me when i needed them. Coincidence, or answers to what i put out to the Universe? I like to think the latter. A work colleague one day told me to manifest something i wanted, put it out to the universe , so I'm trying. Example, recently we needed to measure the floor space at reception so we could calculate how many people we could have in at one time. I needed a tape measure, which i did not have. At that moment our handyman walked into the office. Guess what he had? I am getting into the habit of practising positive thinking instead of thinking/expecting negatives. If something 'negative' does crop up, it can be dealt with, it's not the end of the world. I look for the positive in every negative situation. I am becoming more aware of being grateful for little things, things like getting a good car park at work, a warn cosy bed, a tidy house. I feel when i am expressing gratitude I am putting positive thoughts out into the universe and I notice more positives instead of focusing on negatives. Late last week we had internet issues at work and a colleague i found a little annoying. I've been feeling very drained, agitated, negative for a few days. This morning things were not running smoothly for me. A result of my negative mind perhaps? Little things became a big deal, my morning was crap. If i look back, it wasn't really an issue, i just did things in a different order which gave me more relax time this evening. The Law of Attraction, positive thoughts, positive experiences.

What are your thoughts?

Hi SapereAude

It really happens doesn't it, when we are feeling positive we can lift others around us.

I have a Song Playlist with some of my favourite 40 songs lol... I'm about to cull again.

I love UPBEAT songs and listen to these when I'm gardening or whenever.

On the way to work each morning I love listening to my Christian Radio station, the modern songs are AWESOME and make my soul feel replenished. It puts me in a great state or higher vibration than I am if I don't listen to it.

Is there anything you do to make you feel more positive?
Especially if you're feeling down?

Many Blessings!

Hi golden82

I love how you've recognised how the people in your life aren't right for you and it's time to walk away.

It's also a great thing to get to know the "true you"... probably our most important pursuit and achievement I would say. "Know Thyself" lol... I love the work of Brene Brown on shame, vulnerability, courage and guilt.

I love how she teaches us that we must be vulnerable to be courageous. Seems counter-intuitive but it all makes sense when you listen to how she explains it.

Also about walking through our shame. Knowing it and being OK with it all.

But the thing I love the most is her message of imperfection.

So many people want to be "perfect" and it's such a useless pursuit. Have things around them perfect etc etc. This can be so debilitating to people.

And yes lol my life is overflowing and this too shall pass (maybe)... I reckon I do have twice as many hours as others because I'm positive that I'm hyperactive! I thought I had ADD or ADHD but psychs are divided on this.
I have alot of energy, don't need much sleep thank goodness lol but have high executive functioning ie multi step organising and planning capability.

I have so many projects on the go. The weather dictates alot of them.

But my main aim is to rebuild my relationships with my children. These were heavily damaged in the past by others.

I'm keeping my focus.
Love and many Blessings!

Hi everyone,

I am so glad that I found this thread! I have so many things to share with everyone here! For me, meditation, gratitude, and the law of attraction has set me free from all my mental illnesses. I am living a free life!

Well, throughout my childhood and adolescence, I have been a great sufferer of anxiety (social, generalised, phobias), depression, self-esteem issues, body image disturbance, eating disorder (binge eating disorder) - basically, I did not know myself. I even had problems understanding my school work and other aspects of life - I guess I was very slow in grasping things. So my schooling was terrible. Later my uni studies deteriorated.

But one day it really hit me, when I realized that my uni grades are low and I won't be able to apply for my psych honors program. On that day I made a lifestyle change!

I went completely whole foods plant-based, ventured myself to a fat loss transformation, and every day I started meditating!

Though, I did not get into my honors year but got into GDPA. After a lifestyle change, I started loving myself. I started having gratitude towards myself and others. I became compassionate towards myself and every single thing in the universe! All my mental illnesses reversed completely.

Now every day I look forward to it. I have gratitude for every day and everything in life. Well, I guess these things DO WORK!! It worked for me. Someone like me who used to get literarily heart attacks when I would socialize with someone who had body image disturbance with distorted self-esteem, had severe depression which made my adolescence miserable and my studies deteriorated, would easily get scared from the presence of others and would always ruminate about the future!

Now, I have freedom! I am excelling in my studies (in my GDPA) and I have gratitude towards the meditational practices that I have in place. Basically, eating clean and exercising are not enough. I mean rest of the day our mind can be ideal so it is best to explore oneself! Think about it how exciting would it be to explore the universe that already exists within you! I don't need to find it outside!

So that was my side of the story. Thanks for listening to me.

OMG what a wonderful story Jasjit! So beautiful to read and I bet even more wonderful to experience.

I agree about the whole lot ofcourse lol and especially love your mention of the unexplored space of our minds!

I mean we live with our mind and during stages of mental illness it can really feel like "our mind is working against us". The hateful thoughts and constant self doubting can do so much damage to ourselves and others around us. It can become habit.

So in thinking about it lol, if one way of thinking can become habit then an ENTIRELY NEW way of thinking can too! And this is really exciting.

I am so glad you posted Jasjit and please post MORE!

I really needed to read this. My psych friend came over last night because of a crisis with my youngest daughter. When she settled, amongst other things, psych friend reminded me of the quantum field, the whole "we are energy" and "constant vibration". I was feeling SO exhausted and discombobulated with YDs feelings. But hearing those words shone a shining light of endless possibility in this situation and ANY situation.

Having pure intention and bringing our vibrations UP can make a whole universe of difference to how we think, feel and step forward in our lives.

Thankyou Jasjit, you were my shining light today and I know so many others will benefit greatly from your post and your presence.

Best wishes for your Uni Course!

Thank you Jasjit,

What beautiful story that will bring hope to many, including me.
I look back on life and realise I have manifested things. My bank balance had grown to a figure I had in my mind. The job I have well I told myself it's the job I'd get when applying for many. I'm thinking of the car I want, when it's time it will happen. I've painted my house the colour I want which seemed an impossible task. It's all possible but takes time. Put it out there, focus and let the Universe do its magic. I'm getting better at it, visioning, letting it go. I try and meditate to go to sleep. Haven't been doing it as much as some I'm just not connecting with - the voices etc. I'll find one, it will come to me.

Hi CMF wonderful birth mother of this wonderful thread lol.

How are you doing?

Hi everyone, I'd love to hear about what people are dreaming of manifesting in their lives.

These are some things I just thought of but haven't put them in my Dream Folder yet! Go figure lol.

* BEAUTIFUL Family times. As my children are growing up, some are getting gfs / bfs. They are talking about their varied ideas of careers, Uni Courses, PT work etc .... it's a pretty fertile time for them.
* A beautiful garden. Hard work lol. I'd like lots of different foods growing.
* An Organised house. Chipping away at this. I decided to give lots of things away to a family who's both parents have lost their jobs now. They sell stuff online. They can have my stuff to sell for themselves with love.
* Efficient workspace at work.
* Peace of mind - don't know how to draw that lol. Maybe the words will do there.

Probably lots of others.

What are you wanting in your life?

Hi everyone!

It's me again. I came across this beautiful documentary, "Inner Worlds Outer Worlds".

Basically, this documentary is about how our inner world and the outer world are the SAME. There is no comparison, discrimination, difference!

Personally, it is a great documentary and I encourage everyone to watch this documentary. From what I learned from this documentary was the emotions that we seek outside already exists within ourselves. But also, when we understand that we are from the same energy, it does not matter what others think about us, who we like or dislike etc. From here we can enjoy every second of our life. I know it is hard to do this 24/7 but keeping it in mind daily will definetly help us have gratitude towards the whole universe and then, the MAGIC will begin in our lives. That MAGIC is law of attraction. If we love ourselves, meaning that we love the universe that exists within us and then we ask something, then the WHOLE universe will work towards to get that something special to you. Basically, these are energies which have the potential to flourish one's life.
