Meditation, Manifesting, Gratitude & The Law of Attraction

Hi everyone,

Not sure where to start so hope I can express myself clearly and maybe with others' input we can expand on this. I'm interested in people's thoughts/ experience with meditation, manifesting, gratitude & the law of attraction. I've recently started using the Smiling Mind app to meditate when going to sleep and sometimes when feeling a little anxious, like tonight. It is something i thought i could never do as my mind rarely stops, however, with persistence, I find I enjoy it. I guess i tend to have a negative mindset which I am determined to change.I always felt uneasy about thinking positive things as i thought i would jinx myself, and that whenever I made a positive comment or felt happy it would go wrong or something negative would happen. So i refrained from allowing myself to be too happy, I guess to 'protect' myself. Recently i have been feeling happier, stronger, expressing gratitude and taking note of when things have come to me when i needed them. Coincidence, or answers to what i put out to the Universe? I like to think the latter. A work colleague one day told me to manifest something i wanted, put it out to the universe , so I'm trying. Example, recently we needed to measure the floor space at reception so we could calculate how many people we could have in at one time. I needed a tape measure, which i did not have. At that moment our handyman walked into the office. Guess what he had? I am getting into the habit of practising positive thinking instead of thinking/expecting negatives. If something 'negative' does crop up, it can be dealt with, it's not the end of the world. I look for the positive in every negative situation. I am becoming more aware of being grateful for little things, things like getting a good car park at work, a warn cosy bed, a tidy house. I feel when i am expressing gratitude I am putting positive thoughts out into the universe and I notice more positives instead of focusing on negatives. Late last week we had internet issues at work and a colleague i found a little annoying. I've been feeling very drained, agitated, negative for a few days. This morning things were not running smoothly for me. A result of my negative mind perhaps? Little things became a big deal, my morning was crap. If i look back, it wasn't really an issue, i just did things in a different order which gave me more relax time this evening. The Law of Attraction, positive thoughts, positive experiences.

What are your thoughts?

Hi CMF

Sounds like you've identified your triggers. Sometimes there can be so many triggers/factors going on at once. It's not until becoming fully conscious of them that you can be left thinking 'No wonder I feel so overwhelmed or run down'.

A lack of finances can definitely be a trigger. Personally, I have a trigger number; if the account goes down below a specific number, I can feel my nervous system start to kick in. As I say to my kids 'Money is nothing more than a provider of opportunity. Whether we've the opportunity to obtain something we've always wondered about having or whether we've the opportunity to keep the gas, electricity and water running, it's all about opportunity'. The less money, the less opportunity. With that pay rise, sounds like the universe is saying 'You deserve more opportunities in life'.

'A lack of confidence in the workplace' has a definite feel to it. I hate that feeling and was led to recall it just last week when new lady started. She seems like such a lovely person. You know how some people just have that vibe to them. She was so incredibly stressed out. I just wanted to give her the biggest hug, to help her feel calmer and more supported. I'm typically not the huggy type, so this gives you an idea of how stressed out she was. I chose to embrace her through my words. Just a handful of those words, 'How many times have you practiced this shift on your own before? Before you answer, I'll remind you that you haven't even completed your 1st practice. It is such a high paced jam packed shift, with so much to recall. The woman who trained you in this shift is a naturally relaxed person who makes everything look fairly easy to achieve when, in fact, it's not as easy as it appears. Now that she's not here, can you see the true nature of the shift? While I was as stressed as you when I first started, I've been practicing working here for 3 and a half years. That's a lot of practice in order to look this calm'. The moral of the story: How can we easily practice what we're not familiar with or what we don't know? We can start stressfully practicing before we come to easily practice. The transition between the 2 takes time. I think a new perspective can provide us with the opportunity to be much kinder to our self.

Given the fact you weren't as thoroughly trained in the job as the other person and you can still do it well - you definitely deserve the extra money 🙂

Hi therising,

You are so wise. I too have a trigger number & I am below it...for now. I love this 'Money is nothing more than a provider of opportunity' Thank you. It gives it a different perspective.

Yes, you're right about the job. I am doing all I am required to do. The things I didn't know aren't things i need to do. Like I said, it's all changing soon. In fact when I was offered the position the boss said not to stress about how much there is to learn as it's all changing & we'll all be on the same pages then. That's part of the reason my colleague didn't want to teach me much. New system was meant to be last year but keeps getting pushed back. Speaking of colleagues, she was in office yesterday & I've noticed when our new manager is around the colleague likes to talk to me like I'm still I'm training & tries to show how much she knows. She's been when for quite a while & hopefully will continue wfh. I guess she needs threatened cos I'm in office so she wants to show her knowledge and superiority over me. She butts in and answers if I'm asked a question at times. Our manager sees us equal. Hence the pay increase. I need to stop doubting myself cos when she's not there I'm great.

Hi CMF

Wonder whether your boss senses your work colleague's nature as well as you do, that need to prove herself. Can always tell when you're on the same page as someone when it comes to the both of you sensing someone's nature. They'll give you a knowing look, kind of like they know what you're thinking and/or how you're feeling that person's nature 🙂

Hi therising,

Yes she does see it. Got my vibe back today. Had a dental appointment first thing. A Phobia of mine. Went well, not as expensive as expected.Got to work, found parking straight away. Winning. We need 'office champs' for the new program we are getting. I mentioned to my manager I'm considering it. She said she would love me to do it, thinks I'd be good at it but didn't want to pressure me. It will help me really understand the program & other roles as I'd have extra training. It will be a challenge. I know I earnt my pay rise but I want to show I'm committed & really step up. I'm also part of a focus group to make improvements based on survey We all completed. I jumped into that today & organised our first meeting.

What a way to end the working week. I put my hand up to be 'office champ' for the new program we're getting. I've offered to train a new admin girl we're getting. I've organised our first focus group meeting. Every Friday I email a positive quote. 2 of my managers told the boss about it (they must have been talking about me) so the boss has asked to write a positive thought/quote on the white board each day. I have an app that has heaps & I want to decorate the boars so it stands out. Some of our staff had training on conflict resolution this week. The boss was asking if anyone had used it yet then commented that I'd be good at it. WOW. I think I'm making an impression. I'm putting myself out there. I want to make a difference & it's being noticed. Pretty good considering I'm just being the person I want to be 😊

Hi CMF

That is amazing. You are amazing. Management have obviously noticed your potential, now and in the past if that pay rise is anything to go by. If there's one thing more exciting than other people noticing our potential, it's your self noticing it. To be able to say on occasion 'Gee, I'm good' and really mean it or 'My goodness, I'm amazing' while genuinely being stunned by your own amazingness...well...it's just so inspiring.

Don't you just love feeling your own amazingness. Makes you feel like a kid again. It's so naturally energising 🙂

So true.

Funny how I know manifesting works. I've proven it to myself & in my writing here, yet at times I still struggle to do it & think positively. I'm stressing about my bank balance at the moment & focusing on expenses. Of course this is causing the complete opposite vibration to what I want to put our there. I'm trying to focus on abundance but keep seeing the lack of. You know how they say if you think about repairing something broken your vibration is on the broken. It's a positive thought...repairing...but your focussed on the broken so bringing that into your reality.

I need to practise changing this as I'm vibing low again & sort of can't remember how I raised it lol.

Just saw 444.

An alternative meaning of 444 is that it is a symbol of imminent financial luck. On most keyboards the “4” key is also the “$” key, so 444 literally means $$$.

Hi CMF

Oooh! I'm excited. I saw the time on my phone before and even said to my son 'Look at the time, it's 4:44'. Will keep my eyes and ears open for opportunity. Just saying to someone the other day 'The new stage of my life needs financial funding'. Feeling so stuck at the moment. In a rut that's impacting so many different areas. Have a feeling the next opportunity is going to be a little outside the square. Always a challenge to remain aware of the thing you don't know you're actually looking for, if that makes sense. Inside the square, on the other hand, is so easy to recognise.

Actually had a real estate agent knock on the door earlier today, offering an appraisal. My 19yo daughter, 16yo son and I are so ready to move on, to a new place. The house we've been living in for so many years has lost its mojo. We need 'fresh' and new. My husband never wants to move. I do believe he's the only factor holding the kids and myself back, in a number of ways. I know that probably sounds pretty horrible but he has such a low energy. He loves his vibe because it suits him. He sees it as 'super relaxed'. As long as no one challenges him to 'un-relax', all's good. He'll either put up a verbal fight or ignore us. He doesn't like change because that suits him. He's not keen on adventure (adding ventures) because that suits him. He doesn't like too much of a challenge, good or stressful, because it suits him. So on and so on. The thing is...this doesn't really suit his family. I think he'd be better off single; something I've been considering for some time. Hence the funds needed for the change the kids and myself love to imagine, such as a new house. While I tolerate my husband's vibe, the kids are pushing for the 3 of us to move on. They are energetic and easily excitable visionaries. Deep down, they love their father but they just don't like living with someone so self focused. They're so much wiser than their mother 🙂

444, hold onto your hat. Here we go! Bring it on. You've got me excited. Blessings to you 🙂
