--->>> OTT --- Old Thought Thoughts! <<<---

Greetings!

This post is about LIMITING-BELIEFS, or as me and my brother Matt now call them, Old Thought Thoughts - OTT.

---

This post will most likely not appeal to many people, because I am writing about our beliefs that we have about life and ourselves, that we all have had for much of our life.

Our beliefs are personal, and yet oddly the 'same' as well.

---

There is a school of thought that teaches us that when we identify the OTT i.e. I am unlovable.

Relate to the OTT, rather than from it.

We can then release the attachment to the OTT, as well as the aversion to the OTT.

For example -

A child is told that they are no good, useless and worthless, every other day.

-sadly, this is a story often told, by many.

As this child grows a set of OTT have been programmed into the mind-body of the now grown adult-child.

I am no good.

I am useless.

I am worthless.

etc etc etc

The adult-child now has an attachment to the OTT.

But also you would see an aversion to those OTT as well.

I am no good <- the attachment.

And, I hate that I am no good <- the aversion. The judgement for having the OTT in the first place, keeps us attached to the OTT.

---

Not all beliefs are limiting.

All beliefs are fluid.

They are mutable - liable to change, as all things in existence are!

But...

How do we release the OTT?

Thats what we're most interested in!.

I am going to share a few things of how I am learning to release all of the OTT that once ruled my life, and would love to read yours as well!.

1) Refer to the OTT being in the past. If we keep on affirming the OTT in the present moment, it stays in the present moment. By writing and talking about the OTT being in the past, youre correcting the memory. REWIRE!

2) I AUGMENT positive memories. Whatever they are, whenever they happened. This is why I actively look for things to be thankful and grateful for. Appreciation, heals! And thats now science...if youre interested in the research about this, let me know!

3) I have learned to ask for help, and to RECEIVE it graciously, whenever it comes to me. And, it always does.

4) I SMILE and LAUGH more. Theres research for this too!

5) I have changed my eating habits. I EAT WELL now. I am now on the Guts and Psychology Syndrome foodplan GAPS. I used to be obese. No more.

6) I EXPRESS in healthy ways - dance, music, write..

7) I take time out to LOVE - my family, friends, my dog bundy, nature..

REMEMBERING to LOVE is a biggie!.

And, whatta 'bout you?...

Hello.

Before I go about my day, I wanted to reissue this post that I did awhile back, in this thread, take a look

--->>> SNORT <<<---

Smiling Negative-thought OverRide Therapy.

It's actually just a form of SmileMeditation, that I've been practicing for a few years now, along with LaughterMeditation.

Ask anyone that knows me in person...and theyll tell you that I laugh a lot.

I do my job - I work hard and smart but I like to have fun while I am doing it!I learned this technique a few years back, and I would like to share it here with all you beautiful people...

Let's start...

I usually do this in bed, when I first wake up...to 'program' my day!

I lie there...Deep, slow, intentional breaths...

Generate a smile that meets the eyes - in other words a really big smile, and yes, your cheeks will be feeling it!

Also, lift the eyebrows...I wish I could upload a pic...but essentially youre creating a really big smile, that meets the eyes, and lifting the eyebrows as well...the eyebrows kinda like what you would do if youre really surprised!.

Big smile, eyebrows lifted...youll probably feel silly...but dont worry about that...no one will see you.

And, when youve got that sorted...think of as many things that genuinely make you smile or at least think of as many 'feel good things'- whatever that is for you.

Sometimes for me, when I cant think of much...'cause I am having one of 'those' moments, I will just focus on my dog Bundy...and thats plenty.

I do that for about 20mins now, but to start off with do it for as long as you can, but no longer than 20mins.

20mins is plenty to reprogram and rewire the pathways.

Also, watch out because youll also come up against thoughts that wont make you smile at all...thoughts like...why did she say that???...what did they mean???...why are they so mean to me???...just smile through those thoughts!

And, if crying comes up...allow yourself to go with those tears!

Crying is a great release of stress and cortisol, the stress hormone.

And, I find after a really good 'cry-release' - It makes my smile so much more meaningful!

Thats it.

Seriously.

Its not meant to be rocket-surgery!

Simple and effective SmileMeditation.

Takes about 4weeks to perfect!

HaveFun!

What Turns You On???...

I mean that in whatever way you take it.

What makes you feel good?

I'm talking about sincerely-good.

Whatever that means to you.

I love music...makes me feel good.

It can be that simple.

That which we call 'feel good' feelings on the outside, is just our body working in harmonious-balance on the inside.

Now, for those of us that live a 'disorderly' life at times...how do we trust these 'good feelings'.

At times I have felt so 'high' and good and yet I also know that a low is coming as well, which dampens the 'goodness'.

Like some self-fulfilling prophecy.

What goes up, must come down.

I wanted to share what I have learned about...

Unperturbed Equanimity.

The ability to feel both the highs and lows with a sense of courageousness, acceptance, peacefulness, and empathy.

The body-mind is at ease in all moments from moment to moment.

Firstly, this takes into account all our 'stuff'.

It just means that rather than going from reaction to action, action to reaction, and feeling powerless, like some hostage of your own life, you can respond to whatever pops up, in a way that is helpful, rather than unhelpful.

Thats all.

If you flip out, for example, that happens to some of us, rather than driving the second dagger into the heart and punishing oneself more, we simply respond to that moment with the most helpful response.

That could be...

Leave the situation, or apologise, or cry, or laugh, or talk things out, there are many choices available to us all, in every moment, from moment to moment when we learn to respond to how the body-mind is 'feeling', in that moment.

1) Always respond with loving-kindness, to get the best results!.

2) Be courageous and do something new, at least once a week, that helps you to live more of your best life!.

3) Get to know compassion, it's a win/win!.

4) Connect to The Big Picture Of life, whatever that means to you!.

5) Go out and find out what truly 'turns you on',and lights you up!.

6) Have a daily, personal health and wellbeing 'practice' in place!.

7) Remember that we all makes mistakes, to err is human!.

Creative Visualization Technique - Level 3.

"HappyPlace"

At first I didn't really get the whole mindfulness thing.

Body scanning like blah blah blah.

But I taught myself this technique, which marries mindfulness and creativity perfectly.

Use this technique to discover your 'HappyPlace', if you haven't already.

Why do you want an internal happy place?

My happy place, keeps me safe.

I'm mean that in a 'real-world' way.

Before I knew that I had HFA, I would lose the plot, and that nearly cost me my freedom.

But, I dug deep and got help, and learned as many helpful techniques as I could.

Now, when I'm feeling 'uneasy', I seek 'solitude'.

I am grateful for my 'HappyPlace'.

---

Firstly, see get yourself comfy.

By this time, you will be adept at this process, with all the daily practising that you're doing!.

Deep inhale, slow exhale.

With eyes closed, see yourself at the top of TEN STAIRS.

From 10 through to 0, countdown until you reach the bottom of the steps.

At the bottom is your happy place...what does it look like?

From here, it's all on you to see whatever this 'place' looks like, for you.

Make it a safe and happy place.

Make it a place that you have absolute faith and trust in...feel confidence when you are at this place.

Who is there with you?

What can you smell?

What can you hear?

What can you see?

What can you feel?

Activate all of your senses with this process as you can.

See this place in full colour.

Cultivate, and nurture this place, as often as you can.

Transform it, whenever you want a 'new place', mix things up!.

Be as creative as you like.

But also flow with 'good feeling thoughts'.

NO BAD CAN COME INTO THIS PLACE.

No 'bad feeling thoughts' are allowed in this place.

However, let's be honest, 'bad feeling thoughts' will pop up for those of us that live our life with ALL our 'stuff' going on.

Be mindful of those thoughts especially, and see them as weeds, that simply need pulling from your happy place garden!.

When you are ready to leave this place, find the steps again, and walk up them, from 0 to 10.

When you are at the top, you are 'present', once more.

The steps simply symbolise going down into the inner-consciousness of Self, and back up into waking-consciousness of Self.

The two levels of self-cognisance.

I know for sure that this technique helps me to stay happy.

If you've got any questions, just ask.

I'm here for you, and am grateful that you are here for me too.

Hi everyone.

Mr Source, I have a little dilemma and I would like to ask for your advice, would that be okay?

I've been keeping up with everything that you have all written and I really do enjoy reading this thread. I've been very busy lately. You're a Chef, you understand how hospitality is. I'm working as a waitress, and just not earning as much money as I used to. I used to work on the streets, if you catch my drift, Mr Source. I read somewhere that you too have worked in the industry, is that right?

It's just I'm not earning as much as I once did and I'm considering getting back into the work.

I've been taken advantage of in the past, but this time I'm smarter and stronger. I guess I just want to know what you think about it, am I wrong for wanting to get back into the work? I enjoy it, for the most part, is that bad of me? Whatever you say I will take on board, I guess I'm just looking for some insight, and you're really onto it.

I'm sorry for hijacking your thread. I'm just feeling really anxious about money at the moment, that's all Mr Source. Reading your posts really do help me to keep it cool.

Thanking you with lashings of fairy sprinkles!!!.

Love

Dearest FeyChilde,

I feel incredibly honoured that you would consider my counsel.

It's true I have worked in the industry, like you.

I never worked on the streets though.

Do you mean that literally or figuratively, have you worked on the streets, and is that what you're actually reconsidering?

I have friends that have worked like that as well, that's tough work babe.

What you choose to do, is not my business. Literally.

But, I do need you to be safe though.

Your body is your body.

Be safe.

Practice best practice, always.

Do you know about RESPECT INC and the other organisations that can assist and support you?

I would prefer that you work from your own home, if you must work, it's much safer.

Are you able to do that where you are?

Money is a toughie for many of us.

I get it.

Have you asked for more hours at your current job, is that a possibility?

Would you like some assistance with optimising your key skill sets?

I can assist you with that, if you like?

I get the appeal of the other work, you can earn a lot, and quickly...but it takes its toll too, right?

I really don't want you to work on the streets though, I'm sorry that's just how I feel, and if you ever do...just stay connected to a support-system, okay babe?

Have you mentioned this to your therapist?

I feel that would be really important, if you can...just so they can monitor your mental and emotional health, would that be possible?

You did ask for my advice!

I work as a coach now.

I coach men that have issues with erectile dysfunction.

I only do incalls.

And, there are courses that you can do to become a qualified masseuse etc...so there are many options and choices.

I'm lucky because I'm a bloke and I can take care of myself with these guys.

Just stay safe...can you do a martial arts course???...just throwing ideas around now...that's my job - Creativity!.

I'm really concerned for you now.

Let me know if there is anything else that I can help you with.

I'll always do my best for you.

Have you looked at reviewing your resume?

Gumtree?

Seek?

Employment services?

GOVT websites etc?

Whatever you choose to do...I support you 100%, okay sweetheart?

I'm so glad to 'see' you again, stay in touch.

You'll be in my prayers and well wishes, everyday.
