Hi everyone,
As the title suggests, this thread is pretty much exactly as per the thread title. In some ways, I feel as though I'm a bit of a creative rut, which is awful when you're a creative person.
So I thought that I would try to ask for inspiration in terms of ideas and stories from fellow creatives. Hopefully other people also find this thread helpful in terms of reading and sharing.
So whether you're a professional or amateur graphic designer, industrial designer, architect, musician, writer, choreographer, dancer, landscaper, etc, etc...I would LOVE to hear your tips and anecdotes on how you inject creativity in your world and how your keep the creative spark alive.
Thank you!
Pepper

Hi,
Possum- delighted to have you on board! I look forward to your posts on photography and writing 🙂
Moon- interesting question...I think almost all of us, to varying degrees, are actors. From the tired, depressed parent who puts on a brave face in an attempt to "shield" a child from pain to a friendly barista who hides problems behind smiles to do his or her job.
That was my musing of the day...I'm assuming you probably meant acting as a form of creative expression/art and/or as a profession, in which case, no, I'm not an actor.
I'm curious about your curiosity...are you an actor yourself? Or maybe you're interested in drama and acting?
Also...next bit is loosely related to creativity.
1. A quote:
If chaos is a work of art then my heart is a masterpiece. - D. Antoinette Foy
I suppose this quote is sad but I, in part, interpret it as using pain to create something beautiful. I don't mean "romanticising" pain but I mean, making sense of it by channeling it in a form of creative expression.
2. Watch (Billie Eilish)
A song to transport you out of here. Part pop, part alternative, part fantasy. All heart.
Kind thoughts and keep the creative spirit alive 🙂

Hi Moon,
Don't worry about it, all good 🙂 There's no need to apologise. I kind of knew what you meant but sometimes I like to share my stray thoughts lol.
Kind thoughts,
Pepper

Hi Pepper,
Usually what I do when looking for inspiration for sketching or painting, is I like to listen to music, depending on the kind of art style you're going for the music may vary, eg. if i wanted to evoke happiness from my art, i would listen to songs that make me happy.
I also like to go on tumblr and other forms of social media that could possibly inspire me, looking at things which are 'aesthetically pleasing' can be used as a form of motivation for things such as writing, painting, photography, song writing etc.

Hi!
Jamie. C- It's lovely to have you on board 🙂 Your post brought a smile to my face. Music-art synergy: love it, great concept! It brought m back fond memories of music, dancing and messy painting.
True, true, yes I'm with you on looking at aesthetically pleasing things for inspiration. Thank you so much for the reminder to open our eyes more and look (really look). In Cheryl Strayed's words, "put yourself in the way of beauty."
Moon- I bet you there are actors lurking around...maybe they just haven't replied or haven't seen your post.
Are you into acting yourself? Or maybe thinking of auditioning for a Shakespeare (or other) production?
Kind thoughts,
Pepper

My family is very into musical theatre, my brother and I actually both performed in an amateur production of Beauty and The Beast a few years ago, where I played Chip, the teacup and he played Maurice, Belle's father.
Although I love musical theatre, I only really do it to sing, and I wouldn't call myself a good actress aha. Really I enjoy other activities such as singing, dancing (I do competitive contemporary and hip-hop), writing, photography, and sketching. I love to write songs as well, although I may never compose them, it's nice to have something there to look at, I don't really show them to anyone though because I'm a bit embarrassed to, but my English teacher last year always told me I should be a poet.
Here's a few lines of what I wrote most recently, it's very rough, but sometimes ideas just pop into my head and I have to write them down:
Although she's fallen in the dampest hole, where monsters live and they take your soul, and the crying can't matter because they've already shattered, what once was human is now translucent.

Hi there Jamie C- how lovely to meet a fellow thespian. I can write, as well as tread the boards - but wouldn't call myself a good singer...sort of like you, but in reverse...have good rhythm and used to be great on the dance floor (until old age set in..LOL) but never learned professionally. Was a good pianist when a child too, but the practice was too boring - so I found something more stimulating and and adrenalin filled!
I look forward to seeing some more of your poetry too.

Hello multi-talented people,
The activity on this thread is making me smile 🙂 Thanks guys...
Jamie. C- your family sound like super interesting people. Clearly, creativity is in your blood. I think it's wonderful that you have so many diverse interests. I love Beauty and the Beast so I think it's great that you played Chip.
I love your poetry. It's very sad but I imagine that it's an important way for you to release some of your feelings. Speaking of poetry, I think there's a poetry thread either in the Social or Staying Well section (I can't remember which one) that you might like to check out 🙂 Of course you're more than welcome to post your poetry here but I thought that you might be interested in a poetry thread as well.
Moon- see, I told you there was bound to be actors around 🙂 You're quite the all rounder with your artistic talents, aren't you? I think that's fantastic!
Kind thoughts,
Pepper
