Paul I can't imagine anyone liking the new restrictions but it seems to be the only choice. The effect of the virus on society has been too great not to try to control it. I'm tired & stressed.

Thinking of all those in stage 4 restrictions.

Hi Everyone!

Hey ElizabethCP....thankyou for mentioning 'The effect of the virus on society has been too great not to try to control it'....Im the same as yourself....finding Stage 4 stressful

Hey Quirky....your kind thoughts for people experiencing stage 4 restrictions are appreciated...Thankyou

Im a '9' at the moment....Anyone would be doing it hard under stage 4 (or 3)

Be well

Paul

Hi Paul

Just want to thank you. Since I first posted on the forum you’ve been nothing but kind and supportive and I see that all over the threads.

This virus / news has me between 8 and 9.

😞

Annie

I agree Paul has done a great role on this thread and others,

he is ver supportive,

a question for everyone I am interested in how a number for your feelings helps."?

is it because it gives a a number that can be compared.

i know Drs often say on a scale of one to ten what is your pain but I find it hard to pick a number.

I can see how it helps to have a number so I am curious to find out more.

thinking of everyone at a high number .
Thank again Paul. Ans everyone for sharing your thoughts

Hi Quirky

Seekng the description next to the numbers in Paul’s post led me to that number. And I guess for me it’s just about saying out loud ‘I’m stressed’ on a platform of understanding peers - we’re here because we all have some experience of anxiety / depression.

I can’t say it out loud in my own environment - would not be understood.

Seeing the numbers and description also jolts me into knowing I need to be aware, and work on it.

Dear Paul....just my view and I know it clashes with many others. Regardless of position of power, medical or scientific letters after one's name, our advances in technology and incredible achievements as a human race....we cannot "control" everything that co-exists on this planet we share. Is this not becoming glaringly apparent yet?

kind thoughts and hugs. (oops, forgot, not allowed to touch other members of my species)...Moon S x

Hi Quirky, for me personally, having a number scale allows me to record and compare my own anxiety levels, as well as seeing how other people are feeling. Like Annie said, it also helps me to be more aware of my anxiety and recognise that I need to act accordingly.

Today I started at a 10 - first day of remote learning - but that quickly went down to an 8 as the kids settled back into remote learning so much quicker than last time round. Their resilience and adaptability inspires me.

I am feeling better about the lockdown restrictions after talking to friends in the US who expressed envy that our Government are actively doing something to try contain the virus, whereas they are feeling kind of in limbo without a consistent guide to what people can and should be doing. For them it feels like there is no end in sight. I feel like we got it under control last time so it can be done again. Part of me wishes we’d been like NZ and had tougher restrictions for a shorter period of time so that we could be somewhat back to normal. It seems much preferable to the endless going in and out of lockdowns.

hello all

Annie and fred thanks for sharing your thoughts about the numbers help you.

Moon maybe I see things differently but I feel humans whether they have letters after their names or are considered experts, are well aware of the power of nature and their inability to tame or control it. Bushfires, floods , droughts and cyclones prove this every year.

I feel many scientists and medical people are in awe of things beyond their control.

I may have been confused by your post but to me as a rac hunas are very aware of not being able to control everything in the environment.

Just my thoughts and thanks for sharing yours.

Hi Everyone!

Hey Annie_1...its always a bonus to see you online and really appreciate your super complimentary post too. Thankyou for helping out with Quirky's question re the number on my scale

Hey Quirky....Good question and thankyou again for your excellent support! I am a '9' at he moment

Quirky asked.. ' a question for everyone I am interested in how a number for your feelings helps."?

During Covid-19 many people are suffering not only from mental fatigue through lockdowns/restrictions but also with the various mental health issues that accompany a Global pandemic that hasnt happened for a 102 years....So having a scale of one to ten can help the poster sum up their thoughts whilst having 'tired' mind'

Hey Moon!...always a treat to see you on the air and you mentioned an excellent point ' we cannot "control" everything that co-exists on this planet we share...Many people think this pandemic can be 'controlled' and it can. I do look forward though to some normalcy in the near future Moon. Huge Hugs x

Hey Fred....always great to see you! And thankyou for helping out so many by sharing your the Impact of Covid on your life...I appreciate you looking at the big picture by mentioning:....

'I am feeling better about the lockdown restrictions after talking to friends in the US who expressed envy that our Government are actively doing something to try contain the virus, whereas they are feeling kind of in limbo without a consistent guide to what people can and should be doing.
