- 5 to 7 ...........Medium Impact.............Concerned about Covid-19 yet is doesnt effect me
- 8 ................. Frequent Impact........... Very concerned and checking media/news reports
- 9 ................. High Impact..................Frequently concerned and experience some difficulty functioning daily
- 10................Very High Impact...........Difficulty sleeping...increased anxiety...loss of concentration and/or feelings of helplessness
The forums are a rock solid safe and non judgemental place for anyone to post 🙂

Hi blondguy,
Thanks for your clarification, bg.
Possibly the result of a passing glance at a few days' posts in conjunction with being way too overtired to put things into perspective -no drama. But, as 'Regulator Elect', you also need to be shown some consideration for all you endure - it can be an unnecessary load to carry.
I also agree with Golden's 'dual' impact - how we feel inside is what our mind tells us and it is vital to separate ourselves from overexposure to world events. Perhaps thankfully, we are none of us aware (or concerned) of the catachlysmic events occurring this very moment in the greater cosmos... (yes, I know, they have cameras there too!) - and I dread the day we ever do.
Kind Regards,
t.

Hey tranzcrybe, no worries...you are spot on as couple of recent posts have been focused on politics and thankyou for understanding
You made an excellent point when you mentioned ' how we feel inside is what our mind tells us and it is vital to separate ourselves from overexposure to world events'
Peace always

despite knowing we couldn't safely open up hearing the reality & knowing the things I'm finding the most difficult won't change sent me spirally downhill. It is our 40th wedding anniversary & fathers day but I have been too miserable to be any company for my husband. Haven't spoken to my daughter in the UK for over a month which isn't helping my mood.

Hello Elizabeth
Being a 10 hurts...especially with the extension of stage 4 (or 3) restrictions . I feel your pain Elizabeth. Thankyou for mentioning our health care workers as they have close contact thus the higher rate of infection
Having your 40th anniversary would be somewhat difficult to celebrate with what we are going through. Unless I am mistaken the UK has just reactivated their restrictions after another increase in cases?
ElizabethCP mentioned 'I knew we couldn't open up & we need to reduce the numbers so we can control the virus' Same here...I hear you
Im slowly getting better and now a '6' even after todays press conference..

Spoke to my son in the UK & they don't have many restrictions except quarantine for international travel due to increased infections in Europe.
I'm sorry I can't say any more I'm too upset. I feel like I have nothing to live for.

Hello Dear Elizabeth...
My heart breaks for you...I’m deeply sorry that you’re feeling like you have nothing to live for..
Please believe me that you do...
You’re depression is making you think that way..You are doing a hard job, looking after your husband with no support, and I can understand that it pulling you down and being isolated as well with COVID....
Our world has gone through so many different viruses in the past..Polio, swine flu, smallpox, Spanish flu, etc...Small pox killed over 3,000,000,000..people...The scientists back that found a cure found a vaccination that put an end to them...l
Elizabeth..so many scientists and Doctors world wide are working on a vaccination...who are much more advanced in medicine then they were back then..I believe that one or a few of these scientists will find a cure then a vaccination, It’s there top priority in their field of work at the moment...
You’re beautiful children and grandchildren are being kept safe by you, by other relates, their friends by not visiting them...Yes it’s hard..it’s heartbreaking not seeing them...We would give our life for our children and grandchildren if we had to...even though you don’t realise Elizabeth..that’s what your doing right now..by not seeking them....The time will come, maybe not this year, but definitely next year that you will be able to see, talk and cuddle them as much as you want to...because they have been kept safe by you and there other loved ones....It is hard now lovely Elizabeth but well worth the effort and heart ache your putting in to keep them safe and your husband safe...You really should be so proud of you by doing that....keeping your loved ones safe...
The world will survive this...most people will survive this..this will end..then we can all be very grateful to us, to each other, and to the scientists and doctors who are. working around the clock...because we have all sacrificed something to keep our families safe and to hopefully end this COVID sooner rather then later..
The world is here to stay...stay in this beautiful world because your family is waiting for you..with open arms. for a huge get together when this is over...and it will be over....Your beautiful family need you..your husband need you, we need you and the universe needs you.
Lots of care to you dear Elizabeth,
Grandy..

Hello Grandy, Elizabeth CP and everyone else on this good thread, can you imagine if we were back in the days of The Spanish flu or Smallpox days etc, the fear and anguish would have been monumental, just as COVD-19 is for us today, but money is a huge factor that runs the world and a great measure of how we run ur lives, and saying that there will companies eager to find a vaccine because that means enormous profits.
If we don't try and stay positive your reading will stay at 10, document your thoughts so in 12 months time it's a blip on the horizon but remember how you were feeling.
Take care.
Geoff.
