Hi
I've been having trouble lately keeping myself from getting caught up in gender dysphoria and every time it gets me, i end up isolating myself more. I'm lucky enough to have some solid friends who are willing to let me sliiightly break down a little when they're not busy, but i'm realising that there must be healthier ways of dealing with these thoughts, so that they're not constantly seeing me at my worst.
So i was wondering if anyone knows of any good places to bring stuff like that up (besides this place, obviously), and also if anyone's got some useful brain tips to share.

Hi FreakyRatGoblin,
Sorry to hear you're struggling with gender dysphoria. You should definitely think about seeing a psychologist and discussing these issues with them as they have many skills they can teach you to deal with these thoughts. There are other forum threads about gender dysphoria where people have shared some tips so you should check out that thread and see if you find anything helpful!

Hi FreakyRatGoblin,
Welcome to the forums and thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry that you're having a hard time and glad that you decided to reach out for a bit of extra support. ErinB suggested seeing a psychologist - is this the type of support that you are looking for? QLife also offer some free support which you can also check out here www.qlife.org.au
I was just thinking about your post and you said trying to stop yourself get 'caught up' in it - I'm wondering how that's a problem? What would happen if you were to allow yourself to get 'caught up in it' rather than trying to push it down a bit?
The other thing that might be helpful is to get a little creative - maybe some journaling if you're open to that? I know that has been a big part of managing my own stuff.
Hope that you find some helpful support here and more brain tips 🙂

As for psychologist, i started seeing one shortly before making the first post, she inspired me to try and do something.
If anyone else knows some useful tricks, i can probably use all i can get.
