Hi Sam,
Welcome to the forum, and sorry for the delayed response!
I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing these highly distressing symptoms of PTSD, and have had a recent relapse. While it's great that you've been proactive in learning coping strategies, it's most effective to do CBT and other psychological techniques under the guidance of a psychologist or similar professional. It's worth going back to the doctor who prescribed your meds, so you can discuss the effectiveness of them, as well as this recent relapse.
I'd like to direct you to some previous threads on PTSD that are worth checking out:

I hope you can seek professional support about this relapse. If you would like to talk further, you can post back here at any stage.
Best wishes,
Zeal

Dear Sam
Hello and welcome to Beyond Blue. I am so sorry your post has not been answered as promptly as we would wish.
You don't say if you are seeing a psychologist or psychiatrist, which I would think was very necessary. However, can you go back to the person prescribing your meds and discuss what is happening. It sounds as though you need some help now rather than in a few weeks time.
I am impressed you are teaching yourself CBT. I struggle with this even with the help of a psychologist. It looks very straight forward but the brain can mess up even the simplest processes at times. Meditation, mindfulness and CBT are all great tools to help you manage. Meditation and mindfulness take a little while to become established in your routine. It is the daily discipline of meditating that helps us so much as well as the sitting still in silence. It is very worthwhile pursuing this activity.
Please see your GP or psych about your current difficulties and please come and talk to us again.
Mary
