My way back to normal thinking after significant trauma

I've recently been in a traffic incident where I was a pedestrian hit by a speeding vehicle. I suffered serious physical injuries which kept me in hospital for 17 days. I have been home for just over a week but am currently unable to look after myself due to a broken leg and arm. My wife is looking after me as a full-time carer.
I'm struggling to find a structured way back to my normal self. I'm sleeping very little, constantly mulling everything over in my head. I know my physical injuries will heal eventually but can't see how my mental state will recover.

Hello Dear Guest_3680905,
A very warm and caring welcome to our forums.
I’m so sorry that happened to you, I hope so much that you heal 100%…
Please dear Guest, give yourself time to heal, you’ve only recently just got home from hospital and you still needs lots of rest for both your physical and mental healing to continue…
Being in such a major and traumatic accident your body and mind is still trying to process it all…maybe it might be a good idea to talk to your doctor about some counselling to help with your mental health…you’ve been through so much…and might need a bit of professional counselling some time in the future….
Guest, if you’re having trouble sleeping because of your accident going round and round in your thoughts, maybe listening to sleep story when you’re in bed and ready for sleep could help you, by listening fully to the gentle voice and calming story…it hopefully will calm you’re mind enough to sleep…just go to you tube and search sleep stories…I like “Dan Jones” and “get sleepy” the best…I know that things that work for some might not work for another person…maybe it’s worth a try…
My kindest thoughts dear Guest,
Grandy..
