What do you fear (today)?

In line with my "when were you last truly happy" post, I wondered about what other people fear?
Is it an "every day fear", or is it a "just today" fear?
Do you fear getting out of bed? Do you fear opening the mail? Do you fear the phone ringing? Do you fear being alone? Do you fear the darkness descending? Do you fear confrontations? Do you fear rejection? Do you fear not feeling anything at all?
I wonder if just voicing that fear, sharing that fear, will help to take away it's power? Or will it give it life?
For me, my big fear at the moment is being found out. Fearing my kids or family will come across my posts. Fear a colleague will recognise my writing style or circumstances. Fear that someone will see through this big brave front I put on to get through the door each day. Fear that someone sees my vulnerability.

I fear I will forever be numb and unable to live a life where I feel human and can make human connections.

Fear... I feel it today.
Fear of going to see the doctor tomorrow, because I do not like conflict. So fear of conflict I guess. I have chosen a natural way to heal my body of possible cancer and very high blood pressure. Even though she is kind I am imagining she will be pushy with prescribing me meds and to go ahead with this major surgery. So I will need to be bold and speak my thoughts, which I find extremely difficult . It is making me want to run now. There is a fear I feel of not knowing whether I have cancer or not. There is a fear and doubt whether I have made the right descision in refusing surgery and meds. There is a fear of if I do choose to take meds and how this may further be harmful to my body. More toxins for it to deal with etc.
Fear of asking my hubby for more money to pay for stuff I need. I feel like a beggar and it’s humaliting.
Fear of actually dying. Though at times I want to, because this mountain is huge that I am facing. And I am scared of it. I am not brave or bold. If I was no longer here then I would not see it anymore would I?
Still in bed as I do not want to face this. Got to talk myself into reasons to keep climbing this mountain. What do I have to live for.

Dear Shell~
I'm sending you all the thoughts of calm and wisdom I can, though I'm not sure you need them. All the things you are questioning about seeing the doctor tomorrow are things that do not have right answers, only answers you can live with.
You are the mistress of your life, not the doctor.
Well be thinking of you tomorrow

Hello Karen ( Grandy) and Croix....
I was not expecting anyone to reply, just needed to express this fear sort of out of me.
So Thankyou so much for your kindness. I felt it. Which is a much more comforting feeling then the fear. And tears started to fall when I read your words. So yeah thankyou. I will remember your words tomorrow as I shall read them again. And I do not feel so alone in this now, knowing that both of you know where I am going tomorrow.

Hello Shelley
I have not seen you around lately and wondered what was happening in your life. And here it is. I am sorry you find yourself in such a pickle. Like Croix, I want to say there is never a right answer other than the one you choose. I recently had some major surgery and spent quite a while making the decision, to go ahead or not. My psychiatrist told me I had to be completely certain either way that it was the best solution. My GP suggested I talk to the specialists that treat me for other medical conditions.
So I asked and got reasons based on my specialists' fields of expertise. They all gave me reasons for going ahead with the surgery, some of which I had not taken into account. I have had breast cancer twice, the second time being three years ago. I wonder if I would have survived until now if I had refused to have the cancer removed first time. It had not reached the same stage as the second cancer so I had no follow up treatment except monitoring. Second time I had radiotherapy.
I suppose the question you need answering first is do you have a cancer. No point in going further if is not correct. Meanwhile you can perhaps do more research on alternatives which is what I guess you have done. It most definitely is your choice, just be certain of your reasons.
You have so much fear within you and this was true for me also. My sister died of ovarian cancer many years ago. She had quite a number of surgeries followed by chemo which made her ill. Towards the end she decided no more treatment. The oncologist told her she had survived the chemo in the past at a time when it was the chemo rather than the cancer which killed people. It was much gentler now he said. She stopped fighting, refused further treatment and passed away eleven years after the first diagnosis.
I have myeloma, which is a blood cancer. It's not active at the moment but I see the haematologist regularly and have tests. He seems to think I will need treatment in a couple of years and I am very uncertain I will have this. No need to make a decision now but I will keep being monitored.
This is a huge reply for you. I hope I have not made anything more difficult or confused. I think, looking back, if I had access to alternative treatment I may well have taken it. Hospitals and meds are not the best and I have several times had combinations of meds that have had a disastrous effect on me. Now I do not place my entire faith in medicine.
Make the best informed decision you can.
Mary
