Sad musings

Hi everyone,

I'm not sure what to say other than I'm just on edge, cranky and sad at the same time. I'm aware of helplines, doctors, mental health plans, mindfulness, CBT, smiling mind app, distractions, doing things we love, etc, etc. I feel as though I've hit a wall...

I know that I want to make some sort of change or changes but I'm unsure of the nature of this change. A general feeling of unease. When you're deeply unhappy but you're not even 100% sure why.

Seriously, this all probably seems kind of vague and I'm not sure what I'm hoping to achieve here, and I know that no one has the answer except for me (whatever that is...throws hands up in frustration).

All I can say is I think life is difficult and often painful. It's the daily, in-between moments that I find the hardest. Sometimes I wonder if brief moments of reprieve is as good as it gets.

Hi pepper

how's your day been?

cool you like art to I'm an artist so if you ever want to talk about it I'm your man.😃

Nath

Hello my fellow creative hearts,

I can't seem to keep away from the forums today, can I? Lol.

Butterfly (startingnew) and Nath- you certainly know how to "bait" me to talk. Lol

Butterfly- I'm so glad you like the artists! I agree that Dali's a genius. His artwork is so clever. Bonus points for nature based 😉

Oh yes, Litchenstein's artwork has a sad quality to it even if he uses parody. It's quite moving in a way...looks deceptively fun and animated but upon closer inspection, there's a lot of sad commentary in his artwork...clever. I'm not surprised that his work resonates with you...I had a feeling it would...

Nath- an artist do I hear? One of my fave kinds of people 🙂

I love art, well, technically I love the arts in a broad sense but if I had to pick my top 3, it's

- music: I've recently been checking out some older music...well, reading Just Kids motivated me to do it. Janis Joplin? What passion and what a voice?

- design

- art

- but I love other things that fall under the arts umbrella too 🙂

i would love to hear more about your fave artists or your own projects/artistic vision 🙂 Only if you don't mind sharing...

Better dash now.

till next time. Thanks guys 🙂

Love,

Pepper xoxo

i find alot of things can be portrayed through artworks in many forms whether it be painting, drawing, poetry, music or others things. unfortuantly i often assocoaite with the sader forms of art.

you might like this artist Peps. he does Realism Paintings.

Andrew Wyeth- mainly the landscapes so maybe type in his name and then landscapres after it. he does some really great work. a heap of his painting you would thing are photos

Hi pepper

one of my favourite artists at the moment is debs wild art she dose amazing animal portraits. Of course I don't mind talking about my art so I'm mainly an animal portrait drawer but I also do sculptors and painting and anything else I can try. I've had 2 exhibitions so far which is a really big thing in this tiny town and I've had artwork displayed in Melbourne at the Gould league. I'll change my profile picture to one of my works.

Hi everyone,

It's nice to see this other side of you guys...thank you 🙂

I am still contending with a cold (I'm such a drama queen as I love complaining about it lol). I stupidly decided to go for a walk yesterday in the middle of a fever and almost collapsed. I had to come home 10 minutes later. Oops...I'm okay...another rest day for me, which I'm not very good at lol.

I finished reading Patti Smith's Just Kids yesterday. I cried at the end. It has gotten me into looking up older music. Patti Smith has an amazing voice and deserves the title of "the poet."

She mentions Janis Joplin a fair amount too in her book. I looked up her music and one word: amazing. She has this rock n' roll, raspy and powerful voice and sings with so much emotion and passion.

Butterfly (startingnew)- thanks for the recommendation! I looked up Wyeth and I love his work ❤️

There's a melancholic quality about his artworks especially the ones where it's a vast landscape with the lone person in it. I bet you can relate to his work a lot...I bet your choice of your fave artworks is very telling...

I 100% agree with you that so much emotion can be channelled into the arts regardless of whether it's music or poetry or paintings...the arts is such a universal "language."

Nath- awesome, thanks, I looked Wild up too. Wow, there's a certain liveliness in her work. It's so bold and ferocious- I like it!

Congratulations on your 2 exhibitions!

That is an outstanding achievement 🙂 It is always warming to hear about talent being recognised. Cool, I can't wait to see it!

Love,

Pepper xoxo

Butterfly- don't worry about the typos. My posts are littered with typos...it gives my writing more, um, "flare" lol 😉

hugs....

Love,

Pepper xoxo

Hey Pysis,

I love your artwork! Sorry, is it a bear or dog?

I love the expression on his/her face. The eyes look sad to me; the expression makes me think of how you might feel sometimes (or it could just be my imagination running wild. Lol)

Thanks so much for sharing a piece of yourself with us 🙂

Pepper xoxo

Yes I love talking art too Peps. Ive never been much of an artist until this year and realised ive got a little bit of talent there and if not if bring me comfort and joy anyway.

TAKE IT EASY! Peps, you gotta take it easy. Stay in bed and watch movies.
I havent heard of janis joplin, I mean actually listened to her. Ive heard of her name though.

Yes Wyeth is pretty cool as is Wild. Each artists even when in the same artist styles such as realism etc they all have their own specific style to what they do or to how they do things.

Oh yes, ill see if I can find the names of a few that I mostly relate to. I generally just look and not take any notice of the actual name so will check it out for you.

And yes art in itself is is own language one which many can relate to in some way

Hi pepper

thank you! It's a kelpie dog my counsellor asked me to draw something that represented happy times for me and I used to love doing sheep work with the dogs before pop retierd. Your probably right I tend to unintentionally put how I'm feeling at the time into my drawings, people interpretate art differntly so there is no right way of looking at it either.
