I just work in a cafe - it's ok work, I enjoy talking to people and the friendly vibe. My step dad keeps pushing me to go to uni though and it's really tough. It's a lot of pressure. I feel a lot of pressure from my mum and him about work and study and stuff. I'm still not exactly certain on what I want to do - although I do have some ideas

As parents we just want to see our kids do well and have options in life and something to fall back on. What do you think you would like to study?

Pressure's no good. Help's no one. I think it's important to live life on your own terms as much as you can. Being unhappy because you're stuck in something you don't want because you're trying to please someone else is a pretty sure way to eventually fall into depression - in my experience anyways.

I did a type of work I didn't enjoy for a very long time and have recently changed careers into something I love. It's made a world of difference for me.

What ideas do you have? What would you like to do?

Nothing with working a Cafe Jackson....I was brought up to be a super achiever and it just didnt work.....

Thats success Jackson and good on you. I was working at Just Jeans when I was younger and loved it...same thing 🙂

Kazzl has more courage than I do where deep water is concerned....I wish!

Totally agree Paul - and it's the staff that make the difference between a good cafe and a bad care I reckon. Friendly cafe staff can change someone's day. You might be the only person that smiles at them and says hello that day Jackson.

I was doing a business management course but when my brother passed away I decided to leave it, I wouldn't go back to it, not my thing anymore.

im thinking something like Outdoor Ed or maybe Primary Teaching, or possibly an apprenticeship.

My step dad is always like you should of gone to uni straight out of school you'd be finished by now and probably be in a proper job 😞

but I didn't want to go to uni at the time and what's the point in spending money and time if I don't really like it

Yeah as much as I like I do find myself getting anxious about my future pathway far too often, some of my friends have just finished or about to finish uni degrees
