Hi I suffer from chronic pain. I have a bone shard impacting a nerve root at c8 being treated with cortisone. I have pain at c5 and c6 that is manageable without anything. However I have a constant headache and pressure in my ears that I have had for pretty much every waking moment for the last 7 months. As a result I have become depressed and I have insomnia.
After a trip to a neurologist I have been advised to cease sleeping medication and strong pain killers. I am now only on antidepressants.
A visit to my psychologist today has alerted me that depression does not cause headaches.
Has anyone been treated for chronic pain with ONLY antidepressants and did it work?
I havr a referral now to a psychiatrist to check but it not until May. While I see if I can find something earlier I sm keen to hear if this has worked for anyone.
Thanks,
Carol

Dear Moon,
You are a pleasure happy or sad. You are safe here to be sad, no pretence needed here, hugs.
Perhaps while pretending with your son a light of hope will appear and you will no longer be pretending - I hope this for you.
Either way, we are here for you xx
Lovely Wednesday, I am better today than yesterday but I have slept most of it so not sure it counts yet.....
Thanks for caring 🙂

Good morning Carol. Firstly how is your young son today? Hopefully the temp is under control and he is starting to feel much better.
And secondly, how are you? Has the bad pain from 2 days ago resolved a little? I sure hope so anyway.
Do you have anything happening today, or is it a quiet day at home? I know Mondays are usually a quieter child free day for you, but with your little one unwell you may have him at home with you today. I hope you are able to cope okay for the day with him. Although it will mean 3 straight days for you with him at home, which is not ideal. I know you sometimes see your GP on Mondays, but not sure if that will happen this week. If you do, I hope you are able to see your regular GP rather than the one you saw last week. (-:
I expect you are not yet back to the formal pilates classes yet, but in the meantime, have you been able to continue some of the exercises from home? If so, keep it gentle and dont overdo things.
Hopefully you manage a fairly quiet day today and that your pain eases. Gosh I admire you so much! (-:
Much love to you.
Sherie xx

Hi Sherie,
My little one continues to have a very high temp, 39.8. Dr says to just sponge him down and wait it out, go back Wed. It worries me because he can't have any normal OTC medicine to help. It's viral so no antibiotics to help. He just wants me near, bless him.
My pain is shocking. Not much I can do for that either. Guess he and I are both resting up. I don't need to see my GP until the end of the week and depending on how I feel, as long as my emotions are ok I may wait a bit longer.
I hope you got some rest, very hopeful that you did. I hope you're not feeling too anxious about your appointment at 4pm.
Thinking of you xx
I have been doing all my stretches at home and my neck is really good at the moment. I know I need to go back to physio and pilates but initially was waiting until the ADs worked and now I will wait until my little one is better.

So sorry to hear that your pain is shocking hun... Once again wish I could take the pain for you. Wouldn't it be nice even for a day so you could have a day off from your pain (big big big big soft gentle hugs!!).
I love your profile pic is that the roses hubby got you?? They're absolutely stunning!!
I've got a present for you ... It's a snow globe showing something exciting that's going to happen for you and your family in the future. Give it a shake ... See what it is. Something to hold onto and look forward to Carol.
Much love xxxxx Emmy

Hi Emmy,
You must have heard my wishes, I often wish for just one pain free day.
Yes, they are the ones hubby gave me. I thought it might cheer me up and that the birds might like them 😉
Emmy that's beautiful, what a thoughtful gift. Now Moon and I are twinsies with matching ones.
Ok when I shake it up, the first thing I see is my family together somewhere sunny, away from home, smiling, laughing. I think it's a holiday.
You are a treasure Emmy, a dreamer like I normally am xx

Carol, sorry to see you're having a rubbish day, both with your pain and your little one being sick. I hope you both starting feeling better soon.
I like the new profile picture, the flowers your hubby gave you are lovely. I laughed at your comment about the birds liking them - Sir Pecksalot certainly would. 🙂
Thinking of you.
Blue.

Thanks for the snow globe Emmy - I had a look but couldn't see clearly (yet)through the swirling misty snow - it's as if it's deciding what to reveal to me - it may be saying "you're not ready yet". I know one day the snow will settle and I'll see with clear eyes - how are you going today?
Lost Girl is the pain giving you any respite at all today? Little one feeling better too?....sending love ...xx
