Hi everybody? I like my middle name.Max.so i call myself max. After my grandad. Im amazed how the slight increase in my anti depression tablet has improved my moods. Over a few days.my doctor asked should we increase it...i straight away agreed becuase it worked last year by increasing it.i think my body got used to the low dose and it wasnt working.feeling like cracking jokes and playing my guitar again. So please if you guys ever feel sudden changes in your mood levels.go straight to your doctor and ask if your meds are doing the job or not.sometimes they need to adjust them. Take care all. Max

Max, your post made my day, thank you.
I know you have been doing it real tough recently so a breakthrough is something to celebrate. Thank you also for reminding us that sometimes , tweaking medication dosage can make a world of difference. Over time, we can develop immunity and what worked for us in the past needs change or adjustment.
It is important to let doctors and therapists know about every negative turn before it becomes too firmly established. There's no other way for them to know whether a specific treatment is doing what it is supposed to. Besides, we're all different so react differently to the same approach. Taking guesswork out of the equation is wise.
Max, I'm glad humour and creativity are back. Enjoy and keep sharing.

Hi nowhereman. A Dr who refuses to wear gloves, I would've refused to let him touch me. Yeah I understand the frustration with housing. They ask for your preferences, then offer somewhere so far away, it may as well be the moon or something. I would just say, thanks, but no thank you. I don't think the Ombudsman sees anyone, I think it's just word of mouth, phone calls or emails etc. I hope you reported the Dr for negligence. With the housing situation, are you able to view what they're offering, then refuse it on the grounds of location being unsuitable? Perhaps you could agree to short term acceptance, then after a time, apply for a transfer. I remember my mother rented a house from the dept of housing. She moved into the house, after 3 months, she applied for permission to exchange with another tenant. She had to list her reasons, they included health, location, unsuitable house etc. They granted her permission without checking to see if her reasons were valid.

Hey again Max!
Wow...you've had quite a day man! Your reference to you and 'Pinkie' taking over the world is met with laughter from me Ha ha. Well done! Govt sector's and NGO's can be really frustrating at times, I get that too.
As for the Health Ombudsman, you're better off going thru the HCCC (Health Care Complaints Commission) I did this when I was treated unethically pre/during/post surgery in Feb this yr. (I woke during surgery screaming and was pat on the head and told I was fine, among other things)
Anyways, I went thru the mediation process and now I'm treated first in ED if I present to the hosp and will get a private room whenever I stay. (It's a long and boring story tbh)
As long as your spirits are still high, which they sound to be, you're doing great mate! Keep up the good work Max...

Hi Max. By the way, like your name. Have a cousin Max. Dr's like many so-called professionals believe they're above the law. Unfortunately, they kind of tend to cover each other a bit too. Was there a nurse with you during the appointment, if so she/he will have to tell the truth re: no gloves worn. By rights when a Dr examines a patient, a nurse has to be present. Does the Dr own the practice? If he/she is an employee, I would suggest you contact the employer and let them know what happened. If the Dr owns the practice, you're kind of up against it. Perhaps an option to consider here might be to 'shop around' a bit. By that, I mean have a look online for Dr's in the area, phone them and inquire about patient care. Dr's basically can only assist if the patient is honest and this is where many Dr/patient relationships take time to 'click'. I've been with my Dr for about 15 years, I do get 'techy' sometimes, but he's pretty understanding and a good listener. If you are prepared to work with him, a good Dr can help. This means sometimes they have to be a bit candid, your honesty also is important. If you require the Dr wear gloves each visit, you have the right to request this as part of your treatment.
