Hello Everyone

I feel I am getting better again and have decided to go back to my original on-line name.  I am trying to be more positive and I think White Rose is more positive than Life is not good.

Please BB moderators, leave this post on this forum as this is where I post most often.

Dear Mary~

I'm going to have to make a habit of thanking you for putting memories in

Forums/ Staying well/ Store Your Happy Memories Here:

It obviously pays dividends:)

Seriously - thank you, it will help others, me, and hopefully you sometimes

I'm glad you were happy to look in this old thread.

Dear Mary~

I was going to ask in another thread then thought I'd use yours, and that was to ask how things were and if the polymyalgia has settled down. You ask everyone else how they are so it's only fair you are asked too.

I think you said some needles were helpful, do you have an acupuncturist?

Take care Mary

Hello Croix

Thanks for asking about me. My physio does dry needling and acupuncture. He says it is less painful for me when he uses needles when the part he wants reach is fairly deep and would require lots of pressure from him. So hence the needling. He uses acupuncture for long term relief (I think), unless he just wants me to sit doing nothing. He does use his elbow at time. He has looked after me very well with all my aches and pains and in return I have put him on my Christmas card list.

The polymyalgia/fibromyalgia, my doctor uses both words, has definitely improved. Not as painful and not as often. Still getting the odd attack but managing that with less strong pain killers. My son, who lives in Melbourne, knew exactly what I was talking about which was rather nice. He told me, as though I didn't know, that it was very painful. I phoned him to say I am going to Melbourne and how was he placed with his shifts. I stayed with him last year and it was good to catch up. I was royally wined and dined. He works at the casino so the odds of days off matching my visit are not good but he will let me know tomorrow.

May I ask you to do something? Well actually, not to do something. Can you not use the phrase Take care. It was used by the person we have discussed and does upset me a little. Shame really but I hope you don't mind.

Dear Mary~

I'd hate you to confuse me with him, I'll think of something else:)

I'm glad to hear you have competent help on the pain front and matters are getting better. There is nothing more wearing than constant pain.

Catching up with your son, well that's pretty good too. I'm lucky as mine only lives an hour away and I can take grandson to the movies.

Now let me see .... I know

À plus tard!

Hi White Rose

Saw this post of yours and was horrified to read that a certain phrase causes you distress

i wish I had known before as I certainly do not wish to upset you

Stressless

Stressless, please do not worry. There is no way you could know and I feel a bit silly saying to people "don't use that phrase". I don't fall down in a huge and dramatic fashion or anything like that. It does take me back to an unhappy time but then we are all triggered by difficult phrases, smells, topics etc.

Please relax, I am OK.

Mary

I too am sorry Mary as I also use it regularly here and in real life. I guess we fall into habits and don't realise their effects on others.

My physio and chiro both use dry needling, especially when I have deep or chronic muscle and tendon issues. Apparently it is suppose to release the affect area quickly and easily. It does generally make me feel better although the physio does it best as he does deep tissue massage first and then plants the needles in the pressure points. He knows how to get the sore bits every time!

I hope the body starts to behave itself for you soon!

May the sun shine for you,

TA

dear White Rose, really pleased to be able to once again read your comment. Geoff.
