Thought this might be a bit of fun, and also interesting.

Start from the beginning one at a time, describe it as you wish.

My first job was mowing my nan and pops lawn, I would ride my bike 5ks and totally loved doing it for them.

Hi Geoff, I must say you are a very interesting person.

It is a bit funny you worked at two major food companies.😜

I am proud of you for having your own business, that is never easy.

I always wanted to have my own pub but I have a pretty bad temper.

Have you worked out why you got sacked?

Quercus,

You have picked a favourite job of mine, my last job, other then helping at my hubby's business, was at a large caravan park looking after the gardens and maintenance work,I absolutely slogged myself and loved it.

Yes it is becoming very interesting to see what others have done and what they did and didn't like. Thanks

Some interesting jobs people have had. I've had more jobs than I can count, which is probably not something to be proud of. My first job was at a hairdresser's, but as an assistant and not even at apprentice level. Next I got into retail at a burger franchise, then dabbled in hospitality for a few years in bar tending, waiting and function work. Did child minding for quite a few years, even traveling interstate as an escort for kids. I've done clerical, reception, telemarketing, been a live-in nanny, conducted surveys for agriculture, did cleaning for a few years, then was a carer for a few years and now am working in the healthcare industry. I sometimes wonder how I manage to stay in one job for so long, with my track record (walk outs, tempers, getting sacked unfairly, etc).

hi 9 names later, yes I was sacked from the pub because of an injury that happened to me at the pub, which meant that I couldn't perform my job properly, plus my wife had left me again. Geoff.

Hey 9, my lab tech job was working in a food microbiology lab. We would get foods in before they reached the shelf and test the microbial counts to ensure that they were fit for consumption and that they hadn't been contaminated in any way. It was fascinating see the world through a microscope : )

I was training students at a college to obtain their quals. It was fun when i started and then i just didnt feel confident enough to do it.

First job was pealing vegetables, didn't last long but was impressive seeing people dangerously pealing pumpkins in a matter of seconds while making dirty jokes and others throwing carrots at peoples heads.

Jumped to clerical work, boring but nice to chat.

Flip to IT, starting with fixing PCs and laptops to looking after small networks to software development.

There was one place I worked at, straight out of school, said they were hiring youngsters so they could train them up and get them to the top of the hospitality industry, seemed promising, out of lots of applicants I got the job, after about 3 or 4 months they took shifts away from me, started telling me I needed to be better at this and that, did what they asked, did everything I could, but they still kept focusing on the negative and kept bringing up stuff I was doing wrong, no matter how much I improved and did what they said, there would be a new problem next week. they eventually completely cut down my shifts to one 3 hour shift a week. They told me I would get more as improved, I didn't understand how I was supposed to improve if I didn't work. They told me I should get a second job because they couldn't garauntee me hours. This went on for 2 or 3 months. Along with what I now realise was bullying from other staff.

When it got to nearly 6 months of working there they told they were reducing their staff or they would go under. While in the process of doing this they were also advertising to hire new staff.

Its disgusting how these businesses can do this to young people, I realise now I think they hired these young people for some sort of subsidy they no longer recieived after 6 months, because at the beginning of the following year they were looking for young people again. I still get angry when I think about it, but I proved to them that despite the crap they put me through I made it.
