Thought this might be a bit of fun, and also interesting.

Start from the beginning one at a time, describe it as you wish.

My first job was mowing my nan and pops lawn, I would ride my bike 5ks and totally loved doing it for them.

my first job was 26 years ago as a 12 year old, i would go door to door after school selling bags of lollies, then on saturdays i would go to my mums work and mow the lawns so i could save up to get my first dirtbike, a 1982 Yamaha IT 250

I am loving reading and seeing what everyone has done for work. It is nice to see what everyone has done outside of the forums (well another perspective anyways)

My first job was when I was nearly 16 as a checkout chick. I did that for around 4 years. I transfered this job from my home town to Melbourne but had to resign due to uni and work timetable conflicts. I then got a summer job between uni years as an admin officer/receptionist as a holiday camping ground. I then worked at the pancake restaurant as a waitress, drink maker and behind the hotplate. I did this for a total of 2years while doing my bachelor degree. I moved states my masters degree and got a job as a residential advisor (this required me to live at a student accommodation and help students if they were locked out or had any problems). I quit that because of full time uni placement. After uni I went back to live with mum and worked again at pancake restaurant. I moved to QLD last year as I was offered a position as a nutrition assistant at a hospital. I recently got a job as a contractor/private practice dietitian. I still work casually as a nutrition assistant. I am currently looking for another part time job just for extra income.

I have had my ups and downs with work. Having a bit of a mental breakdown at pancake restaurant when they changed the system, expected me to know it without teaching me how to use it. I had a bit of stress with my NA job as I struggled to find my place in the team as I was a bit younger. But I know love those ladies and they are lovely, just took some time and some tears (could be anxiety based tears let's be honest). And I currently love my job, but looking for more stability of income (need to pay rent) and have a few days off so wanting to utilize it for other work.

Hi all, my first job was at big w, got sacked for eating a mars bar instead of restocking said mars bars.

followed by: labourer, gyprocker, audio visual installer, sign writer, kitchen hand, recording studio owner.

But my favourite job is being a dad.

I hope I can be a mother some day. Hoping I get to have the pleasure of that job. I know not everyone gets to be a parent. At the moment I'd be a dog parent

My first paid work was as a baby sitter, when I was about 15/16. Mainly for friends and extended family.

While still at school, I worked weekends at a Motel in town where I prepared and delivered breakfast trays, and general dogsbody. Also while still at school I did some roustabout work in shearing sheds.

After I left school I worked for 11 years for an accountant doing bookkeeping, preparing income tax returns, payroll, etc. I then worked for a small Govt Agency for 14 years filling various positions including financial work, budgeting, asset management, payroll and other admin work. I worked one year at a country hospital doing admissions, payments processing, etc. Followed by 7 years at an Agriculture Department where I did reception and clerical work. I worked as a bookkeeper/payroll/accounts payable and receivable clerk in a small independent school for 3 years. Followed by 2 years as a bookkeeper and relief hotel manager for a hotel motel business. My last paid work I resigned from earlier this year after being there for 15 months. It was with a Showground Trust compay where I was bookkeeper, secretary, show coordinator and accounts payable and receivable clerk.

Currently I only do volunteer work (unpaid) at an Aged Care facility.

And yes Ms Purple, I am also a step-mum to 2 grown up children, 6 grandchildren, and a Mum to one gorgeous little dog. (-:

jobs apon jobs first one was shed hand then went working on farms went over to eastern states for 12 mths .i have done grape picking farming mining truck driving and any odd job that comes my way. 4 yrs is my longest job shortest was 4 days. sometimes the fuse gets a bit short. i have had a great time with all my jobs plus done a bit of travelling at the same time . it is amazing the amount of interresting people u meet that come from all over the place.they have some interesting stories

Hi. I cannot see how to join dory's post so im tagging on here.

I began work from business college..first job was with Bacardi International..only prob was i was under age and could not serve alcohol.

Mum called me one day there was a legal job near home in the country. Stayed a few years till one day the abc news announced my boss was spending clients mortgage money on the horsies.

I returned to the city and joined a legal job agency, all along battling with bp. I worked for a string of solicitors and had a part time home typing business.

Went back to tafe at 47 only class available was real estate. I had to feed by little one. My bp was haunting me but i managed to get a diploma through the fog.

Then off to qld..the real estate bus. was easy but the bosses were ruthless. I worked 24/7 but they said my listings were theirs.

I opened a lovely evening wear business on my own in a small coastal town which i had for 1 yr. i was then invited to travel aus. for 3 years with a fellow who had sinister motives. I ran the shop from the caravan but eventually i had to give it up..bp set in bigtime.

I ran away from the travelling life back to where i was a child.

My last job 10 years ago was at a church Op Shop in a small town. The volunteers knew my dad..id been trying to connect with him for a long time.

Thankyou for reading my story.

Hi all,

First part of my life was working with horses. Been a cook, ran my own cafe and worked for electoral commission amongst others. Most favourite job was on a Mobile Highway Construction crew. Passed all the tests till we got to the phsyc exam. Boss bought it back out and I was sure he'd tell me I failed but he laughed and told me I didn't even answer the thing properly. I'd filled it out wrong which must have been a clue as it was multiple choice!!. Next thing I know I'm on the highway stopping oncoming traffic.

Hi S.M.

HeavyMetalDad here (had to change name cos Ex discovered me)

I know right, I was a bit chubby way back then, they should have realized my fondness for chocolate lol.

Cheers, MMS
