I got to admit,I love reading at the best of times. Those of us who love to read tend to get the most out of books.I'm a big fan of books that I can learn from.Self help books, relationship books, etc. There's something worth learning.I even read up on dating books just to relearn some skills. As a guy I also love the guy stuff, cars, hobbies, interests, man cave, etc.

What book are you reading? What books are you reading? What helps you?

Thanks.

Julie Andrews' latest autobiography...."Home Work"

Natalie Goldberg, Writing Down the Bones, a great book about writing that is now 30 years old.

This make me feel old as I read it a long time ago, and at a recent writing workshop, the presenter used an exercise from this book.

So I want to find a copy and read it again. I feel writing is my natural therapy.

I am reading a book i was given for Christmas 40 years ago called Doctor Who And The Crusaders by David Whitaker.I have read this book a few times previously and I am a huge Doctor Who fan.Unfortunately only 2 of the 4 episodes remain from the tv series.

The Chamber by John Grisham - absolutely enthralling

I don't really read, I get bored of things easily, I wish I wasn't like that and was more interested in these things.

Last time I read was when I was in hospital for my first surgery in November 2018, and I only read a chapter. It was just the 1st autobiography of a singer I like.

Hey I’m new, joining this thread!

I never used to read, but I’m trying to slowly get into it again, the last book I read that stood out was The Silent Companions a period-drama, horror-type fiction, incredibly dark and scary for a book, some heavier themes too though. If you are into a dark and dazzling horror this is it!

I am currently reading The Night Circus, and while it’s taking forever as I pick up the book once a fortnight - my fault, it’s a truly spectacular and fascinating book which I’m very excited to finish!

I have a couple more favourites, but I’m loving these suggestions and keep writing them in my notebook, let me know if you’ve read Silent Companions as I’m yet to find someone other than my mum haha!

Just finished The Shepard's Hut by Tim Winton. Fast-paced, unusual story and quite shocking and brutal in places. For me it was about an unlikely friendship and how different people survive some of life's really difficult challenges. I give this one the thumb's up!

I am wondering how many people have a book they always wanted to read but haven't due to time. Now you may have time. I have wanted to read Crime and Punishment.

Hi Quirkywords

Excellent suggestion! Homer's Iliad is on my list.

Are you doing any writing?

I've always wanted to read the art of war but it seems like a big commitment haha.
