I got to admit,I love reading at the best of times. Those of us who love to read tend to get the most out of books.I'm a big fan of books that I can learn from.Self help books, relationship books, etc. There's something worth learning.I even read up on dating books just to relearn some skills. As a guy I also love the guy stuff, cars, hobbies, interests, man cave, etc.
What book are you reading? What books are you reading? What helps you?
Thanks.

Dear All~
I read a lot of different stuff and normally have at least a couple of books on the go. Getting out of life into a book is absolutely necessary, at least for me .
ATM
in SF: Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. A recent so-so movie was the result, the book is excellent.
and
in Bio: Zoo Quest For A Dragon by David Attenborough. I remember seeing the TV series in 1957 🙂
I might see if I can get a copy of My Name is Red from the library, Wikipedia's description sounds most unusual, thanks PamelaR

Oh I do like the idea of Zoo Quest For A Dragon. David Attenborough is a favourite of mine.
About My Name is Red - I read it a long time ago, I've read a lot since then (not necessarily books) - work stuff. So my filing cabinets a bit full at the moment. How I know I liked it is - I remembered the author's name when I saw it and when I read his list of books I recognised the name. Yes, it is very different, but I like different.

Just tried to wade my way thru Derryn Hinch's account of his first year in the Senate...who said what....run-down of each of the other pollies etc.....sorry Derryn....was dry as dust...can't finish it so took it back to the Library!
More interesting was Derryn's of a few years back, about his heavy drinking, liver cancer, liver transplant etc....very well explained in detail and anyone who has a brush with alcoholism would probably benefit.
I'd give this latest one about his exploits in the Senate a miss though...sorry "Human Headline"

Hi,
I read literally anything, at the moment I'm reading a self-help book on saving money and some chick lit that is kind of strange but I'm just going to roll with it at this point

Two autobiographies... "Rebel with a cause" by Jackie Lambie....and "Quentin" by Quentin Kenihan, the now 43 year old guy who was born with the fragile bones disease and confined to a wheelchair.....lots of exposure on TV ever since he was a baby, you will no doubt remember him.
also a compilation of Letters to Lindy....a collection of letters written to Lindy Chamberlain when she was accused of murdering her baby Azaria at Ayers Rock - some sympathetic, some obscene, some abusive, some loving and encouraging plus witness accounts, police accounts......the whole spectrum........

All sorts as usual, but one particularity interesting is Arthur Fellig's pictorial book "Naked City" which documents life in New York from the point of view of a press photographer. Records everything from street scenes with poverty though to high society. Fellig's working name was 'Weegee'. Very human glimpses of a different world.
And now for something completely different:) Another picture book:-
"Miss Piggy's Treasury of Art Masterpieces from the Kermitage Collection", which was printed before digital photography made "photoshopping" pictures possible. If you want to see a new take on the Mona Lisa and other classics you'll find it here.

Hi all 🙂
I just finished reading Jodi Picoult's The Storyteller (the first novel I've read by her, which I loved) and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. The latter was quite full on but I loved the complex plot.
My favourite re-read is Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. It's a short read, but a powerful one, and it gets me every time

Some fabulous reads here.
Croix I googled Miss Piggy's guide... It is gorgeous.
And Chloe... Did you find the ending to the series disappointing at all?
I have been given a book called Lost Connections by Rohann Hari which I'm reading. Not sure if I recommend it. It's been challenging and triggering but also discusses a lot of the topics we talk about on the forums (support networks, meaningful work, childhood trauma). Has confused me a bit.
